(e) DEPUTATIONS & PETITIONS 1. Presentation - Mayor's Letter, The Netherlands Rotary International Exchange Student Bill de Peuter introduced Elzo Hilgenga, Rotary Exchange Student from the Netherlands who presented a letter from Mayor L. de Beij. Mayor Storey welcomed Elzo Hilgenga on the exchange visit hosted by the Rotary Club.

Adoption of Committee Recommendations "That Committee recommendations: C12-o"Ol, C12-003, C12-004, C12-008, C12-012, C12-013, C12-014, C12-015, C12-002, C12-006, C12-007, C12-009, C12-010, C be received, and and be adopted, and C be dealt with separately.n "That Committee recommendation C be amended to read: That the September 7, 1993 Report of the Director of Parks & Recreation regarding the addition to the Community Centre be approved in principle, pending the recommendation from the Ad Hoc Facilities Committee and information from the Chair of Finance." Councillor Maurino and Councillor Simpson entered the Council Meeting at 7:30 p.m. (g) PUBLIC MEETING Holiday Opening Exemption Applications Proposed Tourism Exemption By-law o Compton's Groceteria Limited (I.G.A.) 182 Holland Street West o Bak's Market (Bradford) Limited 44 Bridge Street Council held a public meeting pursuant to the Retail Business Holidays Act, to consider applications by Compton's Groceteria Limited (I.G.A.) and Bak's Market (Bradford) Limited for Holiday Opening Exemption. The public meeting of Council closed and the regular meeting of Council resumed.

Report of Chief Building Official Re: Building Department Report "That the report of the Chief Building Official dated August 25, 1993 regarding a Report on the Department as of August 18, 1993 be received." 2. Report of Town Planner Re: Hecking Site Plan Agreement Parts of Lots 1 and 2, Plan 122A 7 John Street East IIThat the report of the Town Planner dated September 13, 1993 on the Hecking Site Plan Agreement for lands municipally known as 7 John Street East, former Town of Bradford, be received, and that the recommendation contained therein be approved." Seconded by: B. Vanderpost "That the correspondence of September 7, 1993 from Mr. R. Gordon, Solicitor, on behalf of Mr. G. Campagnola regarding payment of the fees for Site Plan Approval for 7 John Street be received, and that the required application fee and deposit not be waived." 3. Report of Town Planner Re: Application for Site Plan Approval Ontario Inc. (Hoving) 280 Artesian Industrial Parkway "That the report of the Town Planner dated September 13, 1993 on the Site Plan Approval application filed by Ontario Inc. for lands municipally known as 280 Artesian Industrial Parkway be received, and the recommendation contained therein be approved." 4. Report of the Secretary, Holland March Drainage Committee Re: position of Pump Operator "That the report of the Secretary, Holland Marsh Drainage Committee dated September 9, 1993 regarding the Position of Pump Operator be received, and the recommendations as amended by Committee be approved. 5 - 5 - Meeting 1993/33 September 13, Report of Conservation Authority Representatives Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority Councillor Vanderpost reported on the Conservation Awards Program to recognize and promote public awareness of the conservation activities within the community. She advised of the four awards open for public nominations, and the deadline of November 1, 1993 for the same. Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority Councillor Simpson advised of the annual Conservation dinner and auction scheduled September 23, Report of County Council Representative County Councillor Brown advised that Bill 51: An Act respecting the Restructuring of the County of Simcoe received Second Reading in the Legislature. He explained that he was not aware of any changes to the Bill. 7. Report of Waste Management Representative County Councillor Brown inquired as to the status of the Ontario Municipal Board decision regarding landfill site compensation. The Clerk-Administrator reported that a response is pending from the Town Solicitor for the same. (i) CORRESPONDENCE 1. Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority Re: Conservation Awards Program "That the correspondence from the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority dated August 26, 1993 regarding the Conservation Awards Program be received." 2. City of Woodstock Re: Assessment System Request to endorse resolution "That the correspondence from the City of Woodstock dated August 9, 1993 regarding the present assessment system be received, and that Council not endorse the resolution contained therein."

6 Meeting 1993/ September 13, Family Life Centre Re: Family Week October 4 - la, 1993 Request for Proclamation "That the correspondence from the Family Life Centre dated August 18, 1993 regarding Family Week be received, and that Council proclaim the week of October 4 to 10, 1993 as Family Week in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury." 4. Navy League of Canada Re: Request for Tag Days "That the correspondence from the Navy League of Canada dated August 31, 1993 regarding Tag Days be received, and that Council authorize The Newmarket Branch of the Navy League of Canada to hold Tag Days on October 7th through to October 10, 1993 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury." 5. The Royal Canadian Legion Re: 1993 Remembrance Day Services "That the correspondence from The Royal Canadian Legion received on August 19, 1993 regarding the 1993 Remembrance Day Services be received, and that Council authorize a donation in the amount of $ " 6. Bradford District High School Re: 134th Annual Commencement Exercises "That the correspondence from the Bradford District High School dated August 20, 1993 regarding the 134th Annual Commencement Exercises be received, and that Council approve the awards as follows: $100 Award Highest Standing OAC Family Studies... Julie Rutledge $100 Award Highest Standing OAC Firiite Mathematics... Cindi Kilkenny $35 Award 2d-Highest Standing Grade 12 General Level... Brent Baker."

The Lions Club of Bradford Re: Request to hold 26 Bingo Events Seconded by: J. Mayor Storey advised of review of the appropriate surveys to identify the location of the dwellings; zoning; and Zoning By-law requirements prior to passage of the By-law Moved by: R. Simpson Seconded by: J. Maurino "That Council waive the requirements of the Procedural By-law and permit By-law to be considered."
