Call to Order: Call meeting to order by Chair, Joshua Green, at 8:00 a.m. on May 20, 2013 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, San Diego, California. 2. Self-introduction of Committee Members and Guests: A current committee roster is attached. (Page 3) 3. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: Approve the May 21, 2012 meeting minutes. (Page 5) 4. Staff Liaison Report: The New Process. See handouts from PowerPoint presentation, (Page 7) The Minutes item from the SAF-AAC Correlating Committee s November 6, 2012 meeting follows: Definitions. The committee agreed to have each defined term assigned to a specific technical committee so that committee would have responsibility for the maintenance and revision of such term. A task group is to be formed after the Second Draft meetings of the current revision cycle. The task group will report to the Correlating Committee (CC) its recommendations for the definitions assignments in time for the CC to review the recommendations at its first meeting of the 2018 revision cycle. Each Technical Committee chair is asked to identify a member to serve on the task group.

Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes. The October 4, 2010 meeting minutes were approved as written and distributed. 4. The New Process Review. 5. NFPA 5000 First Draft (formerly ROP) Preparation. The committee reviewed and resolved 10 public inputs. The committee created seven (7) first revisions and one (1) committee input. 6. New Business. The committee created and the Chair appointed members to the following task groups who are charged with completing their work in time to submit them as public comments prior to the closing date: a. Task group on Site impracticality : Jake Pauls, Eleanor Smith. John Rickard, Shelly Siegel and Shane Cleary. The Chair will draft the charge and to members. b. Task group on Updating Extracts : The Chair and staff will draft this work and send out to the committee prior to submitting for public comment. 7. Date and Location of Next Meetings. 13 Creating a Second Revision (SR): Committee wants to make a change (to add, delete or modify) the First Draft Committee develops the change text and a Committee Statement (CS) substantiating the change Each SR gets letter balloted 19 Creating a Second Revision (SR): No new material after the Public Input Stage since it hasn t had the benefit of public review What constitutes new material is decided by the Technical Committee or Corr. Comm. Adding new material at the Comment stage could successfully be challenged through appeal to the Standards Council 20 Voting: Voting during meeting is used to establish a sense of agreement (simple majority) Formal vote secured by letter ballot (2/3 agreement) Only the formal ballot determines the committee s official position on the Second Draft 21 Page 13 of 18 7
14 Ballots are ONLY on Second Revisions (SR): Public Comment Actions and Committee Statements not balloted Reference materials are available - Second Draft, Public Comments, First Draft Report 22 Ballot form allows you to vote: Affirmative on all SR Affirmative on all SR with exceptions specifically noted Ballot form provides a column for affirmative with comment: Note: This box needs to be checked only if there is an accompanying comment Reject or abstain requires a reason 23 Ballot Process: Initial ballot Circulation of negatives and comments Members may change votes during circulation A Second Revision that fails letter ballot is changed a Committee Comment (in the 2 nd Draft Report), marked as Reject and deleted from the Second Draft. 24 Page 14 of 18 8
