Loyd UL 2864 is an inappropriate test method for a plastic plumbing piping and tubing in plenums.it has long been known that these products cannot pass E84 and revising the testing procedure does not equal equivlant safety in buildings. No substantiation was submitted to justify the reduction in testing requirements for this product, which if continued to be accepted will add products of combustion into the plenums which reduces the time and ability of occupants to exit the building in a fire situation. It would permit unlimited quantities of plastic piping and tubing in ceiling cavity and within raised floor plenums. In a fire situation there is or may be failure of all systems and there is no assurance nor can we assume there will be water in these systems.and, noncombustible products are readily available to serve these areas.
