2 October 20, 2015 TOWN OF PORT McNEILL MINUTES of the regular meeting of Council held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at 1775 Fumey Place. PRESENT: Mayor S. Ackland, Councillors S. Downey, A. Frost, G. MacDonald and Staff S. Harvey and K. Cessford. APOLOGIES: Councillor J. Dixon, and Staff D. Rodin. 1. PETITIONS AND DELEGATIONS a) Presentation by the Port McNeill Events Committee. Port McNeill Events Committee members A. Tapp and J. Brown presented Council with their proposal and budget for an afternoon family Hallowe'en party. They requested use of the Community Hall with a janitorial fee only and advised that any excess donated funds would be set aside for future events. CORRESPONDENCE a) Letters dated September 30, 2015 from Claire Trevena, MLA, to Vancouver Island Health Authority and to the Minister of Health requesting no pay parking at the new Campbell River hospital. 205/ Moved, seconded, and CARRIED that the above letters be received for discussion. In Economic Action Plan 2015, the Government of Canada announced further support for communities with the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program. 9 Town of Port McNeill Report to Council November 02, 2015 To: Mayor & Town Council From: Karen Cessford, Administrative Assistant Re: REQUEST TO OBSOLETE THE SMOKING POLICY AT OPEN AIR GRAVEL PITS RECOMMENDATION: That Council review this recommendation to make obsolete the Town of POli McNeill Smoking Policy at Open Air Gravel Pits. BACKGROUND: The Town of Port McNeill has one gravel pit that is used infrequently (Approximately one day, once or twice per year), There are cultently no smokers on the Public Works staff CONCLUSION: ThaI Council make obsolete the Town of Port McNeill Smoking Policy at Open Air Gravel Pits.
