The Senate shall review the attached minutes and vote. 4 ITEM NUMBER: 1 AGENDA ITEM TITLE: APPROVAL FOR STUDENT ENGAGEMENT SURVEY OF CURRENT STUDENTS AWARENESS ABOUT THEIR WASTE- CONSCIOUSNESS BACKGROUND: Realizing that as a community we are unaware of the true environmental impact each one of us has, I, Tyler Robert Clark Director of Environmental Affairs, would like to invite students to scrutinize their own habits and COC s as a whole. I will provide students with statistics relative to eco-consciousness and ways to reduce waste accumulation. COST: N/A RECOMMENDATIONS: MOVE TO APPROVE THE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT SURVEY OF CURRENT STUDENT WASTE CONSCIOUS AWARENESS. SUBMITTED BY: TYLER ROBERT CLARK, DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS. 5 ITEM NUMBER: 2 AGENDA ITEM TITLE: APPROVAL OF DIALOGUE WITH JESS PHOENIX ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES BACKGROUND: I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH JESS PHOENIX, CURRENT DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR OUR 25TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT, AND HER TEAM. SHE WOULD LIKE TO COME FOR A DIALOGUE WITH OUR STUDENT, FACULTY, AND STAFF COMMUNITY. THE CONVERSATION WILL BE FOCUSED ON ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND THE LIKE; A MAIN CONCERN/CENTER OF HER CAMPAIGN. THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS TO GET ENGAGED IN POLITICS. JESS AND I HAVE SETTLED ON THURS, MAY 10 AT 3. THE EVENT SHOULD NOT LAST MORE THAN 2 HOURS AND WILL BE OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY. I WILL BE ENCOURAGING MEMBERS FROM ALL PARTIES TO COME AND PARTICIPATE IN THE DIALOGUE, ASK QUESTIONS, AND POSE THEIR VIEW POINTS. I AM ASKING FOR $200 IN FUNDING FOR REFRESHMENTS, INCLUDING FOOD AND DRINKS. THIS IS AN ESTIMATION I HAVE NOT SOLIDIFIED WHICH ITEMS THAT WE WILL PROVIDE, BUT I WILL GO THROUGH COSTCO AND MAKE SURE THAT EXPENSES DO NOT RAISE ABOVE THE LIMIT.
