Monday, July 16 Returning Robot Wranglers - 10 am. Community Room. Join Miss Pam and our Dash and Dot robots for some coding fun! Registration required, lottery winners announced 1 week prior. Preschool Storytime - 10:30 am. Join Miss Terri for stories, games & fun for children 3, 4 and 5 years old. Sit N Knit - 3:30 to 5:30 pm Knitters are welcome to join the group. Zumba Class - 6:30 pm. Community Room. Zumba is a fun total workout, combining all elements of fitness. Cardio, Muscle Conditioning, Balance and Flexibility. Classes led by Jodi Blum. All levels welcome. Drop-in. Free. Library Hours Mon.-Th. 10 am to 9 pm Friday 10 am to 5 pm Saturday 10 am to 5 pm Sunday Closed Friends Fundraisers Mah Jongg and Canasta at 12:30 pm in the Community Room. Mah Jongg on Mondays. Canasta on Tuesdays and Canasta Lessons and play on Wednesdays. Parking is limited. Please carpool. New York City Bus Trip on Wednesday, Sept. 26. $42, includes tip and a light snack. 2 Tuesday, July 17 Friends Christmas in July Book Sale - 10 am-9 pm. Grab a paper bag and fill it up with great reads for your vacations and trips to the shore. $3 per bag. Open during library hours. Lower level, outside the Friends Book Room. Toddler Storytime - 10:30 am. Join Miss Vanessa at Toddler Storytime with stories, music and fingerplays for 1 & 2 yearolds. Middle School Modern Coding - 6 pm. Students entering grades 6 to 8 will work in teams to program Dash and Dot robots. Registration required, lottery winners announced 1 week prior. Showing: Le Chef (French. English Subtitles). Amateur chef Jackie can't hold down a job and is in danger of losing his woman while a Michelin-starred chef is in danger of being pushed out of his restaurant. Their lives intersect and comedy ensues. Magic of Sharks - 7 pm. Join us for a shark-themed magic show! Help Steve make the magic happen and learn amazing shark facts in this high-energy, comedy-magic show. Sponsored by Friends of HVL. Thursday, July 19 Friends Christmas in July Book Sale - Open during library hours. Lower level, outside the Friends Book Room. Bounce and Rhyme Baby Time - 10:30 am. Rhythm, rhyme and movement for babies up to 18 months with a caregiver. Tai Chi - 11 am. Come and experience the gentle, healing movements of the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi Qigong. Drop-in classes are $7 per session. Meet Dash. Parent-Child Introduction to Coding - 2 pm. Community Room. Each Parent-Child (K-2) team will learn simple coding skills to make Dash the robot move, dance and light up.registration is required and limited to 8 teams. Lottery winners announced 1 week prior. Teen Summer Reading - Rock Band Club - 2:30 pm Join us in the Valley Youth Center (entrance off of lower parking lot) to play Rock Band 2. This highly interactive game will help you learn musical concepts and introduce you to the basics of playing guitar, bass, drums and singing on pitch. Light refreshments will be provided. Library LEGO Club - 2:30 pm. Friends Learning Lab. Children ages 5 and up are invited to come play, build, and engineer with LEGO bricks! Registration required.
