Read books and earn prizes! Registration begins on Tuesday, June 13th. Registration and all programs are FREE! Summer Reading Kick-Off Party: Family Concert with Corinne Rockow Tuesday, June 13th at 11 AM Join us for an interactive, family friendly concert with folk musician and storyteller, Corinne Rockow at 11 am. Sign up for Summer Reading all day! STEAM: CD Scratch Art Wednesday, June 14th at 2 PM Scratch a design into a painted CD to create a work of art! Breastfeeding Moms Group Friday, June 16th at 11 am Pregnant and breastfeeding moms and their babies (older siblings, too) are invited to visit to meet other moms, learn about breastfeeding and other parenting topics, and share ideas and stories. Peer counselors are available through the Marquette County Health Department. Saturday, June 17th from 10:30 AM 3:30 PM supplies including Legos, K nex, and much more. Try our weekly challenge or use the time for creative/free building. The LEGO Movie (2014, Rated PG) Saturday, June 17th at 2 PM Join us for a movie and popcorn! Junior Civil Engineering Program with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Tuesday, June 20th at 11 AM Join Julie from MDOT as she offers an introduction to their Transportation and Civil Engineering (TRAC) program. This hands-on program is designed to integrate science, math, and social science! Ages 6-10 Civil Engineering Program with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Tuesday, June 20th at 1 PM Join Julie from MDOT as she offers an introduction to their Transportation and Civil Engineering (TRAC) program geared towards tweens and teens. This hands-on program is designed to integrate science, math, and social science! Ages STEAM: Wreck This Journal Wednesday, June 21st at 2 PM Design and create a collaborative journal with wacky and creative prompts to keep!

Robert Jones and Carole Hoste Thursday, June 22nd at 5 PM M.L. Liebler is a 2017 Michigan Notable Book Award Winner, and he is stopping here in Ishpeming! Charlie Palazzola, Rev. Robert Jones, and Carole Hoste will provide live music for the event. Copies of the award-winning books will be made available for purchase and a chance to meet Mr. Liebler and the musicians will follow the event. We will be giving away a Kindle to one lucky audience member! Summer Storytime: Kindness Friday, June 23rd at 11 AM Join us for stories, songs, and crafts! Screening: Before the Flood Thursday, June 29th at 5 PM Join us for a screening of the documentary, Before the Flood. Popcorn will be provided. Ages 16 and up. Parental discretion advised. 4 Poetry Reading with Beverly Matherne and Marty Achatz Saturday, July 15th at 1 PM Local poets Beverly Matherne and Marty Achatz will team up for a special poetry reading here at the library. Achatz serves as our current poet laureate and Matherne has performed her poetry all over the globe. Don t miss a chance to see these two talented authors perform their work live! Ages 16 and up recommended. Storyteller: Sandy Maki Tuesday, July 18th at 11AM Local storyteller, Sandy Maki, will offer a storytime experience that centers around being a good citizen to your community. Ages 14+ Yooper Paranormal Thursday, July 20th at 5:30 PM If you ve wondered what it s like to be a paranormal investigator then don t miss this special program. Trish Kautz and Kelly Carlson of Yooper Paranormal will be here to tell us how they investigate the unexplainable. Ages 16 and up Alex Thomas and Friends Puppet Show Tuesday, July 25th at 11 AM Join professional puppeteers for an interactive, fun, and exciting puppet show featuring Muppet-style puppets. Stay for a meet and greet following the show for a chance to meet the characters, take photos, and receive autographs! Adult Book Club Tuesday, July 25th at 2 PM and Wednesday, July 26th at 6 PM All are welcome to attend our Summer Reading Program Adult Book Club. This summer we are reading A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. Please feel free to attend one or both meetings. Ages 18 and up
