9 Staff Senate Spotlight Joseph Schmidt Coordinator of Operations, David L. Boren Student Union HSC Student Affairs Staff Senate is an exciting way to challenge yourself outside of a daily role, sharing talent and time with departments and staff you may not otherwise be working with. INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT JOSEPH Recently visited the A to Z Guest Ranch. Great steak in the mountains Attended Harding Charter Preparatory High School and graduated from University of Oklahoma in 2012 with a BA in public relations and a minor in communication. Joseph is all about Thundering Up and supporting any teams representing the outstanding OKC! Recently wrapped up his role as Communications Coordinator for a statewide student affairs conference. There are too many great things in life for you to let not-so-great things distract you from happiness. I'd like to see Staff Senate continue to reach out as a change agent on campus, actively promoting its mission among staff senators and all staff at OUHSC. Huge fan of digital publishing, loose leaf teas, Korean pop music and used to play the fiddle! Recently celebrated his one-year anniversary to his beautiful wife Crystal (August 1)! I went all the way to China to ask her parents' blessing (and had amazing food there every day!). Has been at OUHSC for four years and has served as Chair for Special Projects ( Very excited to see how far it comes next year! ).
