1 MONDAY AUGUST 13, 2001 The Board of Supervisors met at 10:00 a.m. Monday the 13thday of August, 2001, in the Supervisors' Room at the County Courthouse, Town of Poplarville, Mississippi with the following members of said Board and officers of said County present, to-wit: Robert Thigpen, President, member from District No. Four; Larry Davis, Vice-President, member from District No. Three; Anthony Hales, member from District No. One; Charles Ray Perry, member from District No. Two; Troy Stockstill, member from District No. Five; Nova Carroll, Board Attorney; David Earl Johnson, Chancery Clerk; and Joe Stuart, Sheriff. The following proceedings were had and entered of record towit:
2 ORDER APPROVING CERTIFICATE AND AFFIDAVIT FOR ISSUANCE OF DUPLICATE WARRANTS Supervisors of Pearl River County, Mississippi, the matter of approving certificate and affidavit for issuance of duplicate warrants. Upon motion made by Troy Stockstill and seconded by Charles Ray Perry, the following order was adopted, to-wit: Be It Ordered by the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors that the attached certificate and affidavit of issuance of duplicate warrants in amount of $32.25 to Heiden, Brooks & Garland, Inc. be approved and $90.00 to JCC Environmental, Inc. 4 ORDER TO ACCEPT FRANCHISE FEE CHECK FROM CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS Supervisors of Pearl River County, Mississippi, the matter of accepting a franchise fee check from Charter Communications. Upon motion made by Charles Ray Perry and seconded by Anthony Hales, the following order was adopted, to-wit: Be It Ordered by the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors to accept a franchise fee check in amount of $10, from Charter Communications. 5 ORDER ACCEPTING PERSONNEL CHANGE IN TAX DEPARTMENT Supervisors of Pearl River County, Mississippi, the matter of accepting personnel change in Tax Department. Upon motion made by Anthony Hales and seconded by Troy Stockstill, the following order was adopted, to-wit: Be It Ordered by the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors to approve the request from the Tax Office to authorize Belinda Smith to requisition supplies and Cara Pullen to be her back up. 6 ORDER APPROVING DOCKET OF CLAIMS AND PAYROLL OF COUNTY EMPLOYEES FOR PERIOD ENDING AUGUST 8, Supervisors of Pearl River County, Mississippi, the matter of approving claims docket and payroll of county employees for period ending August 8, Upon motion made by Charles Ray Perry and seconded by Troy Stockstill, the following order was adopted, to-wit: BE IT ORDERED by the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors to approve that the claims docket be paid by August 10,2001 and payroll of county employees for the period ending August 8, 2001, and as verified by the various department heads as being true and correct are hereby approved with exception to comp time. Ray Perry, Larry Davis, Voting AYE: Anthony Hales, Charles ORDER APPROVING SCHOOL BUS TURN-A-ROUNDS FOR PEARL RIVER CENTRAL AND PICAYUNE SCHOOL DISTRICT Supervisors of Pearl River County, Mississippi, the matter of approving school bus turn-a-rounds for the Pearl River Central and Picayune School District. Upon motion made by Charles Ray Perry and seconded by Larry Davis, the following order was adopted, to-wit: Be It Ordered by the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors to approve the attached school bus turn-a-rounds for the Pearl River Central School District and one for Picayune School District on Lazy Oaks Road. These requests, being located within the Pearl River County School District and Picayune School District and bearing approval of said Superintendent of School, be and are hereby approved by this Board. Be It Further Ordered that upon receipt of a signed document from the individual land owners and approved by said school board,
8 the Road Manager be and is hereby authorized and directed to construct and maintain said school bus turn-a-rounds as set out above in order to enable the buses to travel said roads safely and to have ample room to turn said buses.
