I hope to see you all. November 8th will be our USMC Birthday Barcrawl. The shirts this year will cost $15. The shirt design is on page 5. If you would like a shirt, please contact Rachel (eng.rachel.a@gmail.com) or comment on the photo on Facebook with your shirt size and place your payment in the drop box at the lounge. Please place money in an envelope with your name/reason for payment (envelopes provided in the lounge). Shirt sizes and payment are due this Thursday, October 30th by 4:00pm. For the latest information about this event, see the event page "USMC Barcrawl" on Facebook. The Marine Corps League Det #1231 is hosting a Marine Corps Ball on November 8 th. They have been one of Illini Veterans biggest supporters, and it would be great if we could return that support. It is open to the public, not just veterans and not just Marines. More information is on page 3. Our annual veterans recognition football game will be on Saturday, November 15 th against Iowa. Veteran Support Student Services is providing us with free tickets to the game and Black Dog BBQ for our tailgate. 2 Announcements Primera Engineering Information Session 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm Student Veteran Lounge Illini Union (Basement) 1401 W Green St, Urbana All Illini Veterans exner2@illinois.edu Before the October 30 th monthly meeting, Primera Engineering will be joining us for an information/networking event in the lounge. Food will be provided. Primera is mainly recruiting engineers, especially ECE majors. Our own Mike Goodlow interned with Primera last summer. Find out more about the company at primeraeng.com. See what the Illini Veterans have coming up. We will have a special guest speaker: a lawyer who will go over the fairly new concealed carry laws in Illinois. Sam will be providing some drinks and all are welcome to bring something to share with the group. It's $10 for a cup for the night, $5 a cup if you show up in costume. This is another one of our bigger events during the fall semester and is one you won't want to miss. Please vote on bars so that we can get a schedule going for the night.
