2 Ways and Means met last night to discuss last week s bill Open Forum with Santa Ono this semester for general student body If Student Groups want to advertise they can use new TV s and use an online request form REPORT OF THE STUDENT BODY VICE-PRESIDENT Three Days away from Illinois bus trip, only 5 spots left UC Day at the Zoo is Saturday, September 7 th o Will have live music, cocktails, cheerleaders o Cost is $7 o Buses leave at 4:30 Public Safety Strategic Plan o Did not hear feedback but would like outside feedback FYLP o Have more mentees signed up than mentors o Please consider being a Mentor REPORT OF THE INTERNAL HOLDOVER SENATOR Tribunal Funding Meetings will be next week o Only have to attend one o President, Treasurer, and Senators should attend Tribunal Leadership Conference o Will be after Senate in Steger REPORT OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF Cabinet Members are being approved First Cabinet meeting will be on September 19 th at 7:00 in Open Space by SG office o Will be a Finance Presentation All student going out in next couple days REPORT OF THE FINANCE DIRECTOR Budget is up to date Funding Workshops will be next week Sunday at Retreat there will be an overview of turning in paperwork EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS Cabinet Appointments Neehar Swahli, Diversity Director Omer Donmez, Director of Community Affairs Julia Patterson, Director of Health and Wellness Mike Fitzgerald, Vice President Assistant Michael Elliot, Director of Creative Intelligence Oath of Office: Senator Kristin Alverson COMMITTEE REPORTS

3 TRUSTEE REPORT Had Board Meeting two weeks ago to finish improvement Dyer Morgans Hall Opened Next Meeting is in the month of October BOARD REPORTS SSB o Application is on CampusLink o First Info Session is Monday at 8Pm in TUC 423 UFB o Student Organization workshops are going well o Applications are on CampusLink and deadline is September 26 th o First Budget will be reviewed tomorrow o If a student comes into SG office with question forward them to UFB member TRIBUNAL REPORTS COB o 11 th September first meeting for Finance Meetings o Bearcat Launch pad is open to all students CCM o Had first meeting yesterday DAAP o First Meeting Yesterday Had 50 people show up o Will be going over goals this upcoming week Nursing o First Meeting is Sept 16 th 12-12:45 Will have pizza Room is still unknown A&S o First Meeting will be held next Monday 5:00 43 McMicken o Tribunal is on Facebook o Twitter and Instagram soon to come o Will be giving out student shirts and COMMENTS FROM THE GALLERY OLD BUSINESS Student Senate Enactment Bill S.14-E-002 President Blizzard o Ways and Means met for 2 hours to update the bill o Vice President will be the chair of EFC o Vice President will appoint Vice Chair and be approved by 2/3 o Added duties and roles for Chair and Vice Chair for EFC o Added how the committee functions

4 o Vice Chair has vote if there is a tie o People on committee need to be approved by 2/3 vote Senator Kenny o Would like to say thank for everyone who worked on the changes o Believes that the bill met many of the issues Senator Gearhart o Believes that the bill met everyones concerns from last meeting President Blizzard o Two Co-Chairs will cause lack of a clear leader of the committee Senator Akomolede o Worried about the reduction in the campaigning time, some campaigns gain momentum over time. President Blizzard o Burden of campaigning is large and wanted to reduce the time and wanted to open the opportunity for more slates o Very Well developed marketing strategy can overcome lack of momentum concern Senator Gearhart o Motion to Close Discussion NEW BUSINESS Student Senate Resolution Bill S.14-R-001 o Senator Sykes o Team stayed for Alma Mater at previous Purdue game o Support all teams singing Alma Mater regardless of outcome o Wanted to write letter to Coach Tuberville to say thank you and that students will support this act in the future o Has endorsements from various campus organization members o Senator Gearhart o Thinks this is awesome and heard that the Alma Mater was great o Motioned to Close Discussion o Bill passes Student Senate Appropriation Bill S.14-A-005 o President Blizzard o Trying to offset some costs from the president s office o Have won the past two years and want to show support to the event o In full support and wants to see more students there that aren t just Student Gov t members o President Blizzard o Motioned to Close Discussion o Passes Student Senate Appropriation Bill S.14-A-006 John Ruther o From Men of Metro and wants to promote school spirit o Searching for two-fold sponsorship for Miami University Game o Wants to get cost down to $35 for trip o Leftover money will be given back to sponsoring organizations Chief Beer o Concerned that time clashes with sorority recruitment John Ruther o Wants to promote outside of greek life as well o Believes that we will be able to pack the three buses

5 President Blizzard o Last time buses to Miami were taken there 5 buses were used John Ruther o $30 ticket is the cheapest ticket available o Only 3 buses are being taken due to keeping the pricing down o Possibility of adding a fourth bus if need be o Yellow School Buses will be taken Senator Kenny o Would like to move to make an amendment to change from Louisville to Miami and that overrun will be taken out Senator Hurley o Changing Miami to Louisville and change to $5,398 overall be sponsored to prevent overrun Senator Gearhart o Thinks it s great but concerned about attendance concerns o Also concerned about students just driving the $45 minutes o Would prefer not to sponsor the bus but the tickets Senator Shah o Sees where Senator Gearhart is coming from but believes that the bus is necessary for students without the car Senator Sykes o Way to sign up for Metro bus trip is the same as SG o Motion to close Discussion Bill Passes ANNOUNCEMENTS o Senator Gearhart o If you know of any CEAS students interested being an Ambassador let them know we are accepting applications o Sorority Recruitment registration is open o President Blizzard o Sign up for the bus trip o Friday is Walk the Moon First concert Doors open at 7:00 PM Expecting 10,000 people o Attend After the Fire o Senator Naab o Homecoming Parade Registration is Live Event Deadline is due Friday o Senator Smith o November 7 th is the deadline for registration for Student Groups o SAB applications are open o Internal Hold Over Saunders o Attend Tribunal Leadership Conference after Senate Meeting o Roar applications are due Nov. 1 st o In technology related major GE is holding an info session o VP Hyde
