5 Whereas, WSU Dream Closet is an important event in the Winona and Winona State University low-income communities Therefore be it resolved, that WSUSS allocates $ to WSU Dream Closet for their November event Moved by Senator Kuerschner Seconded by Chair Casey Move to amend the aforementioned motion sum from $ to $ Moved by Director Vines-Marchesi Seconded by Chair Casey Amendment Fails Motion Passes New Business Whereas, Winona State Students would benefit from a positive image prior to Homecoming Week. Whereas, the Winona community would benefit from a positive portrayal of WSU students prior to Homecoming Week. Therefore be it resolved, WSUSS recommends that President Melecio writes a positive letter about WSU students to multiple local newspapers prior to Homecoming. Moved by Senator Schultz Seconded by Senator Ferrington Move to amend the aforementioned motion to change Winona Daily News to send to multiple local newspapers prior to Moved by Senator Schultz Seconded by Chair Smith Amendment Passes Motion passes

6 Whereas, Pizza and Politics is a nonpartisan event attempting to provide voting and candidate information to students Whereas, promoting a nonpartisan event that provides information about candidates running for election would be beneficial to Winona State Students Whereas, as the student body government, the WSU student senate has an interest in presenting nonpartisan information about local elections to all WSU students Therefore be it resolved, that Winona State University Student Senate be recognized as an official sponsor for the Pizza and Politics Moved by Senator Kuerschner Seconded by Chair Smith Motion Passes Therefore be it resolved, that WSUSS allocate to Winona State Model United Nations Club.
