Our popular Thanksgiving Early Bird Supper will be held on Tuesday, November 13, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Chefs Paul Goldberg and Bob Ruzzo, our friends from Windsor Town Hall, will be preparing a traditional Thanksgiving meal of fresh carved turkey, pan drippings gravy, savory stuffing, mashed potatoes, garden vegetables, dinner rolls and a delicious dessert. The Sage Park Middle School band will give us a special performance! Call or sign up in the office. $ Veteran s Breakfast! All Veterans and their spouses are invited to a delicious breakfast catered by Dom s Broad Street Eatery to be held in our Senior Center café on Thursday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, coffee and tea. Our guest speaker will be from UCONN s Office of Veteran s Affairs. Please sign up in the office or call Free! Veterans only may sign up beginning October 29; sign ups for everyone else starts on November 2. Maximum 60. Parkinson s Awareness Join us on Tuesday, November 6, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, in our Senior Center café, as we share with you an introduction to Parkinson s Disease. Presented by Fresh River Healthcare of East Windsor, they will speak of the symptoms, challenges, support services speech and language therapies, physical medicine and rehabilitation services which are put in place to ease the way for patients and their families. Light refreshments will be served. Sign up in the office or call Free! ~ Important Notice ~ As you may have recently read in the newspapers or have heard on social media, government grants have been scaled back tremendously due to budget cuts. Our evening and weekend trips, funded by government grants, unfortunately have been caught up in these cuts. In order for us to continue to offer evening and weekend trips, we request a suggested donation of $2.00 per person, per trip. If you should have any questions, please speak to our Senior Center staff. Mobile Mammography Screening mammograms will be offered at the Senior Center on Monday, November 26, between 9:00 AM and 2:20 PM for women age 40 and over. Most insurances accepted. If you don t have insurance, we have donated funds to pay for your screening. Sponsored by Hartford Hospital and the Town of Windsor. To schedule an appointment, call Annual Holiday Party Celebrate the season from noon to 2:00 PM at our Annual Holiday Party in the Senior Center café on Wednesday, December 5. This will be a very insightful hour as we get an inside look at how scammers think, so you can protect yourself and your family. You will get a look at the psychology behind identify theft, fraud and scams, and through actual footage of scammers, insights and advice, you ll get the tools you need to keep yourself and your family safe.
