2 - Page 2, Council Meeting Minutes, March 18, AGENDA ITEM #2(a) - MAYOR'S REPORTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMARKS Appreciation was extended to enlisted service men and women, reservists and associated volunteers who served in Afghanistan, as their duty ended officially on March 12, Michael Skritch, Nominee for a Niagara Community Design Award, was congratulated on his nomination and wished luck at the award presentation being held on March 19, Rick Dykstra, MP was in attendance on March 18, 2014 at The Ontario Paper Thorold Senior s Centre to announce a $15,000 grant received for audio visual improvements at the Centre. A Town Hall meeting will be held by Malcolm Allen, MP, Welland Riding on March 20, Annual Runway of Recognition will be held on March 25, 2014 at Club Capri. Councillor Preiner reported on an article published in the St. Catharines Standard indicating interest from the City of St. Catharines regarding an arena partnership. Councillor Preiner requested that lines of communication remain open between all parties In this regard. The Director of Operations advised our progress to date with our Arena Ad Hoc Committee and Consultant and the identified need for an arena in the City of Thorold. 2. Councillor Ferry reminded Councillors to participate, if they are available, in the round table discussions with 610 CKTB on Tuesday mornings. AGENDA ITEM #6 - BY-LAWS 6(1) MOVED BY: R.
