1 The Northern Ohio Chapter of ASSE CONNEX-IT Volume 25, Issue 2 May 19 th, 2016 NOH CHAPTER OF ASSE UPCOMING EVENTS NOH Chapter Meeting May 26 th 2016 State of Ohio Plumbing Code Updates ASSE Annual Meeting Nov Las Vegas Northern Ohio President s Message Jason Shank President of the Northern Ohio Chapter of ASSE May 19 th, 2016 Hello All, As spring has come to Northeast Ohio and the Northern Ohio Chapter is finishing up its Chapter Meetings next week on May 26 th, I would like to say that this 1 st year of Chapter Meetings standing alone has gone well. When the Board 1 st decided to go the route of hosting its own meetings the main objective was to gather all people and organizations involved in the Plumbing Industry in one place to discuss and educated each other on what is facing the industry today. That objective has been met to a certain degree this year. Where I feel we are lacking is reaching some of the non-traditional Plumbing Industry that may need it the most. It is my opinion that not through lack of effort on the Chapters part to reach these people but because they don t realize how important there job is in protecting the health of the nation. For too long the Plumbing Industry has been beat down as being too regulated and you don t need to know anything to be in plumbing and we have allowed this to happen. So I for one will be focusing in on this as we move forward to next year s meetings and events in the hope that the Plumbing Industry will once again be recognized for its contributions to our great society. Old Business Upcoming Promo events 1. Rich is doing a Scald Awareness on April 20th 2. Strawberry Fest June 12 th :30 2:00 Discussed the NOH Chapter staking the lead on issues with Backflow Program(s) in the NE Ohio area. 1. Moving forward Set up a round table meeting with all interested parties possible Sept Chapter Meeting. 6. New Business Reviewed NOH Chapter Meeting Thursday March 24 th Was a great meeting and speaker Try to work on getting more attendance for May 26 th meeting Plumbing Code Update NOH Chapter Meeting Thursday May 26 th Code Update Jack Soma State of Ohio Plumbing Chief to do this. Discussion doing more Boy Scouts in the Fall All in Favor No other new business Next Meeting will be Wednesday June 15 th at 3:00 P.M. Meeting Adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
