The Presdent of the College, when makng an appontmefl.t to any offce or stuaton n the College to whch he has the rght to appont, shall appont to such otlce or stuaton a person who s competent to dschurge the dutes thereof through the medum of the rsh language : provded a person so competent and also sutable n an other respects s to be found amongst the persons who are canddates for such appontment.

() Ths Statute shall be construed wth and as part of Statute XV of Un.. ersty College, Galway, and t shall not affect any appontment made, rght acqured, lablty ncurred, at aet done under any prevous Statute of the College. (2) Ths Statute shall come nto operaton on the twenteth day uf February., One rrhousand Nne lundred and TJ,rty.fve. ll. Ths Statute may be cted as Statute XX of Unversty College, Galway, or Stat.
