J. A. Perez BE T ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE TERRTORY OF GUAM: Secton. Secton 4233 of the Government Code of Gu S hereby repealed and reenacted to read as follows: Secton Members or the Legslature. The provlsons of ths Chapter shall apply to any person who has served as a member of the Legslature or who shall bv l hereafter serve as such a member and any such person shall be consdered a member of the fund enttled to all ṭ the Legslature shall mean the average annual.. - the benefts of a member based UDon the followng addtonal provsons: (a) Defntons and rules of constructon. J. : : U :r : ' f f hghest conseclltve years wthn the last ten (0) years of credted servce or the average salary recved for the two (2) hghest consecutve years of servlce as a member of the Legslature whchever s hgher (b) Credtable servce: membershp credt: subsequent credt. Any person clamng credtable servce as a member of the Legslature under the provsons of ths Secton shall be enttled to receve credt for vears of servlce n the Legslature as follows: () Servce crept for all servces rendered \ as a member of the Legslature provded that such Derson shall have made a contrbuton to the Fund n accordance wth Subparagraphs (c) () (c) (2) or (c) (3) of ths secton and (2) Servce credt for any year or years followng hs servce as a member of the Legslature for whch such person shall have made a contrbuton to the Fund n accordance wth Subparagraphs (d) () (d) (2) or (d) (3) of ths secton provded that..l no persons shall make contrbutons or may recelve credt under ths subparagraph for any year followng hs tenure n the Legslature for whch he qualfes for credt for the same year under any other provson of ths Chaoter. (c) Contrbutons for servce. Any person clamng credt for servce as a member of the Legslature shall make contrbutons to the Fund n accordance wth the followng: () To receve credt for servce rendered as a member of the Legslature durng the perod from 95 to 966 such persons shall pay before January 977 as hs contrbuton to the Fund an amount _ _ J_r

(2) To eceve credt for sevce rendered / as a Dember of the Legslature durng the perod from 966 to 973 such person shall pay before January 977 as hs contrbuton to the Fund an ount equal to Sx percent (6%) of hs annual salary for each year of servce as a member of the Legslature durng that perod. (3) To receve credt for servce rendered as a member of the Legslature after January such person shall pay as hs contrbuton to the Fund > an ount eaual to sx d one half pecent (6 /2%) of hs annual saarv to be deducted from the b-weekly salary payments to hm for each year of servlce as a meer of the Legslature after January (d) Contrbutons fo subsequent credt. Any person clalng servce credt for any year or years followng hs servce as a member of the Legslature shall make contrbutons to the Fund n accordance wth the followng: () For each year of such subsequent servce credt clamed durng the perod from 95 to 966 such person shall pay before January 977 as hs contrbuton to the Fund an amount eaual to One Hundred Ffty Dollars ($50.00). (2) For each year of such subsequent servlce credt clamed durng the perod from 966 to 973 such person shall pay before January 977 as hs contrbuton to the Fund an amount equal to Three Hundred and Sxty Dollars ($360.00). t )

5 r S t (3) For each year of such subsequent servce credt clamed after January such Derson shall pay quarterly as hs contrbuton to the Fund an amount equal to one and fve-eghths percent ( 5/8%) of the annual salary receved by hm durng _ hs last year of servce as a member of the Legslature. (e) Applcaton and notce. () The provsons of ths secton except as herenafter provded n Subparagraph (f) shall be mandatory for any person who shall be a member of the Legslature onjanuary or who there- \ \ after become such a member and the Board shall gve notce of the applcaton of ths secton to any such Derson wthn one () month of the date on whch he takes an oath of offce as a member of the Legslature. (2) The Board shall gve notce of the provsons of ths secton to any person who has served as a member of the Legslature durng the perod of 95 to 973. (f) Notwthstandng any other provson or ths secton the provsons hereof shall not apply to any person who has served as a member of the Legslature or who shall hereafter serve as such a member f such member has already begun to receve benefts under ths Chapter '. f.
