1 October 2012 Serving Marseilles Magazine A Community Publication Provided By MTCO Communications MTCO Communications 244 Lincoln Street Marseilles, IL 61341

2 The Award That We Share With The Entire Community When MTCO decided to print a local community magazine, we did so because we needed to connect with the people in this community and our service area. MTCO wanted to tell everybody about our new television service available in Marseilles without filling up your mailbox with lots of advertisements. The process of flooding your mailbox with offers everyday obviously must work for the other TV providers, but we wanted to be more useful with our messaging and not wasteful. We saw a need for a publication providing local information regarding the community and events, so we created Connected Magazine. We don t report the news in this publication, as you can get that instantly online these days. We just want to be a good resource for what s happening in Marseilles. We also wanted to be able to show the community who MTCO is, and what we are all about. Even though MTCO (Marseilles Telephone) has been here for a long time, there are people that don t know our story or our involvement in this community. MTCO is owned by 2nd and 3rd generations of the Rauh family. Their vision over the years along with the invovlement of MTCO in the community, has helped to make this town a great place to live and work. Over the past two years we have invested time and money to bringing television services to our customers along with our telephone and Internet services. During this time we created and published this community magazine. Connected Magazine is just one of the great little things we like to do for the residents here in Marseilles. We hope you find this a valuable resource to the events, meetings, and gatherings that happen in our city. This past summer MTCO received an award from OPASTCO, a national communications association, for Connected Magazine. The award recognizes excellence in independent telephone company communications. At the 2012 OPASTCO National Convention, MTCO received the annual Indy Award for this achievement. This validates how we have always felt about the magazine from the beginning. We share this award with all of the residents of Marseilles. You are the reason we are still here after 25 years of keeping the community connected. Thanks again! HOOPS&YOYO S HAUNTED HALLOWEEN will air on Friday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. hoops&yoyo can t wait for Halloween, but they HAVE waited until the last minute to begin their search for costumes. When that search leads them to the mall, they are accidentally locked inside after closing. They discover that this favorite daytime haunt is actually haunted at night. But through a series of frightening events, they learn that monsters aren t always who they seem to be. It s a hoops&yoyo adventure that s so funny it s scary! The new app includes all the great features and content from the original video app, plus exclusive games and collectibles. Engaging the power of the ipad, the revolutionary user interface allows fans to watch videos and play games simultaneously, or swap seamlessly between the two just by rotating the device. The iphone and ipod touch versions include all the same content and also allows users to watch and play in the same app, although not simultaneously. The new Cartoon Network app will continue to be free to download. Conversion Update MTCO has converted close to 70% of our TV customers to our new middleware system! With the conversion, customers receive 18 new HD channels, many new feature enhancements to the Channel Guide and DVR service, and remote access to DVR programming and voice mails. MTCO is still in the process of contacting our remaining TV customers to convert to the new system, or if you prefer, please do not hesitate to contact us to schedule a time at White House Mobilizes Developers for App Upgrade Last month the White House launched new versions of its mobile app, releasing the app source code along with the new version in an invitation for developers to tinker with the revamped ios and Android apps.
