2 May 2013 SWEEPS REPORT Wins Every Day. Every Newscast. Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11 p.m. achieved its highest Late News rating ever reported in the Atlanta DMA using Nielsen s Local People Meter methodology. Channel 2 Action News once again won every newscast in May, completing its clean sweep for the television ratings season. The station gained over May 2012 in its 4:30 and 5 a.m. newscasts, its Noon, 4, 5, 6 and 11 p.m. Channel 2 Action News Saturday and Sunday mornings also posted gains over last year s May Sweep. Serving our viewers and earning their trust in our coverage motivates the entire station to excel in every way, every day, said Tim McVay, Vice President and General Manager for Channel 2 WSB-TV. Our team pays attention to every detail, maximizing new technology on multiple platforms built on the backbone of excellence in journalism. Our investigative teams broke major stories, uncovering local bars that over-served alcohol, drugged truck drivers, troubled school cops, government waste and votes for important elections that weren t counted, added News Director Mike Dreaden. WSB-TV and ABC together continue to set high water marks in Prime Time. The powerful ratings of Scandal, Grey s Anatomy, Modern Family, 20/20 and Dancing with the Stars drove ABC s Prime Time domination of Atlanta viewing.
