1 History Elliot V. Elliot was Federal Secretary of the Seamen's Union of Australia (SUA) from 1941 until Elliot was also a member of the Communist Party of Australia until 1972 when he joined the. Elliot was originally from New Zealand and was Secretary of the Queensland Branch of the Seamen's Union prior to his election as Federal Secretary. Elliot died in 1984 The records cover aspects of Elliot's professional life and interests.
