7 4. PETITIONS 4.1. Petition No. 1581/2014 by Luca Bucchini (Italian) on food control legislation 4.2. Petition No. 0187/2015 Sjoerd Wartena (Dutch), on behalf of several organisations, on the protection and administration of European agricultural land as shared wealth Decision: The AGRI Committee will take note of the above-mentioned petition and its Chair will inform the Chair of the PETI Committee that it has done so 5. HEARINGS AND MISSIONS 5.1. Missions for the 2nd half of 2016 Decision: The programme of AGRI missions for the 2nd half of 2016 will include a single mission to Slovenia during week Hearings for the 2nd half of 2016 Decision: The programme of AGRI hearings for the 2nd half of 2016 will include 3 hearings on the following topics: - The future of the EU sugar market after the abolition of sugar quotas in 2017 (with up to 2 reimbursed guests) - The role of conservation agriculture in enhancing agricultural productivity and ecosystem services (with up to 2 reimbursed guests) - Resource efficient and innovative agriculture - EU and global best practices (with up to 3 reimbursed guests) 6. MISCELLANEOUS DECISIONS 6.1. TTIP Decision: The AGRI Committee will invite both the main EU TTIP negotiator, Ignacio Garcia Bercero, and the negotiator for agriculture, John Clarke, for an in camera update on agricultural issues in these negotiations and a reaction to the recent publication of a USDA report claiming that the TTIP would benefit mainly to the US agricultural sector to the detriment of the EU one. Following this exchange of views, which is regarded as an urgent matter, AGRI Coordinators may consider further (political) initiatives in this respect INI Reports Decision: Authorisation will be formally requested for the drafting of the following INI reports (working titles): - Access to agricultural land / Extent and impact of farmland grabbing in the EU PV\ doc 7/14 PE v01-00

8 (allocated to the S&D group for 3 points) - Responsible ownership and care of equines (allocated to the ECR for 3 points) - Minimum standards for the protection of farm rabbits (allocated to the GUE group for 3 points) 6.3. Follow up of the EP resolution of 28 April 2015 on a new EU Forest Strategy: for forests and the forest-based sector (2014/2223(INI)) Decision: The Chair will contact his VI and ITRE counterparts to propose the organisation of a joint AGRI-VI-ITRE meeting with Commissioner Hogan for a discussion on the implementation of the EU forest strategy, in line with para 108 or the EP resolution of 28 April Submission of OQ's for each upcoming Plenary session on a "sector by sector" basis Decision: The AGRI Committee will consider positively proposals from political groups to adopt and table sector specific oral questions for debates in plenary on the ongoing crisis on agricultural markets to follow the one already tabled on the pig meat sector.
