Coordinators meeting (IN CAMERA) 2. Adoption of agenda The agenda was adopted. 3. Chair s announcements The Chair announced that the meeting would end earlier at to allow for the shadows meeting on the North Sea file to take place in the same room. Members were informed that the joint Oral Question PECH/VI on the "posidonia oceanica" seaweed would be adopted by written procedure. 4. Chair's announcements The Coordinators have taken note of the letter from DG MARE Director-General Machado, dated 5 September 2017, with a table of upcoming legislative files to be adopted by the Commission in late 2017 and 2018 and decided to further discuss this item at their next meeting. 2. Hearing on Super-Trawlers: destructive or sustainable on 9 October from 3.00 to 4.30 pm Decision: The Coordinators approved the programme of the hearing (Annex I) Hearings 2018 Decision: The Coordinators discussed the proposed subjects for hearings in Annex II; the final list of hearings will be formally adopted at the next meeting. 6. Missions/Delegations 6.1. Committee missions 2018 Decision: Coordinators discussed the proposals for missions in 2018 listed in Annex III; the final list of missions will be formally adopted at the next meeting Delegation to the 2017 ICCAT Annual Conference (16-19 November) Decision: The Coordinators adopted the final list of participants (Annex IV). The secretariat was instructed to proceed with the formal accreditation procedure for Members. 7. Any other business 7.1. Calendar of PECH meetings in 2018 Decision: The Coordinators took note of the PECH Committee meeting calendar for 2018 (Annex V) established by the EP Calendar Unit Joint Oral Question PECH/VI on Posidonia oceanica seaweed On 21 June the Coordinators supported the S&D proposal for an Oral Question to the Commission on posidonia oceanica and its importance for the biosphere and coastal marine habitats. A text has been jointly drafted with VI (Annex VI). Decision: The Coordinators approved the text proposed for a joint Oral Question, to be submitted to the Committee for adoption by written procedure Petition N 0145/2017 by Amandio Silva (Portuguese) on the protection of the black swordfish in Madeira (Annex VII) Decision: The Coordinators agreed to refer this case to the two PECH representatives in the Petition Network Meeting CCC/College of Commissioners 2017 PV\ docx 5/10 PE v01-00

6 The Coordinators were informed that the annual meeting of the CCC with the College of Commissioners in view of the adoption of the 2018 Commission Work Programme will take place (for PECH items) on 3 October 2017 in Strasbourg Snow crab fishing conflict between EU and Norway (Svalbard) Decision: The Coordinators took note of the letter by Europeche in Annex VIII and decided to raise this issue as soon as possible directly with Commissionner Vella, by means of a major interpellation in Plenary Mauritania Decision: The Coordinators agreed to invite the Commission to provide information on the total fishing efforts data for catches in Mauritanian waters.
