We are having a baggo tournament on February 3rd starting at 6:00 pm. This is a open team event with the winners representing the Lodge at the District finals in Milwaukee. February 4th is our Super Bowl party starting at 4:00 pm. Should be a great game and of course the commercials. Food, raffles and lots of fun. See you there. February 9th is the kids movie night featuring "The Lion King" movie. All the fun starts at 5:30 pm. February 10th is our first "Winter Music Fest". New bands, food and dancing. A $5 cover charge will benefit Kenosha Safe Harbor. Let's support this event. February 17th is the Sweethearts Dinner Dance. Time Warp will be playing and this year we are going to a buffet format with Victoria's Cafe doing all the cooking featuring PRIME RIB. Due to some unfortunate family issues we are sad to report the Zoo Review has been postponed. But we will be having a trivia night on the 24th in its place for your entertainment. The 10th the WOTM will be having a craft fair. March 17th will be St. Patrick's day dinner, with possibly the Kenosha Area Pipes & Drums performing for us here at the Lodge. We will know for sure on February 9th if we got the bid. Keep your fingers crossed. March 24th is the kid's Easter party, so make your calendars for all these great events. Officer nomination forms will be out this month as this is the time for a new board to be elected. The first Nomination meeting will be February 27th. Second will be March 13th, third on March 27th. Don't forget as well to be checking out all you moose benefits at mooseintl.org and wismoose.org. The benefits and incentives change all the time for signing up new and former members into the moose. The lodge has an incentive for you as well, sign up three new or former members and get a year's dues free. One way to never pay dues again, just keep signing up members. 2 2 NEWS FROM YOUR GOVERNOR Greetings all, February 4th is our Super Bowl Party. We will be having Beef & Chicken tacos to eat and raffles to win. We will start at around 4:00 pm. Get here early to get your table. February 10 is our "Winter Music Festival" with four local bands playing. This is an open to the public event with a $5 cover charge. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Kenosha Safe Harbor animal shelter. Jessica Brown / Mellow Flame / Matt Meyer and Jacob's Grounded will be playing. Event doors open at 3:30 pm. Food will be provided by our own Victoria's Cafe. We are starting to get our summer "Moosefest" outdoor music festival put together. June 22nd & 23rd is the weekend for all the fun. We are looking for volunteers to help out again this year. We are in need of help, both financially and boots on the ground in getting money raised for our roof and elevator repaired. Our money raffle came up short in raising enough funds to do the repairs. The officers will be looking at our options for our future. 3 SPORTS Pool plays every Monday and Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am. Lunch is served at 11:30 am. The second half of the am season has started. Mike Bezzotte and Barb Dumesic won the first half Monday and Aaron Perona and Lloyd Jester won first half Wednesday. Bill Walker had a table run. Andy Burger chairs both mornings. Spring Monday pm pool has started. Darla and Ron Kramer chair. Take part in the action or stop in for Victoria s Kitchen treats. Every Wednesday night some of our members get together for an informal open pool tourney at 7:00 pm. All members are welcome. Always free pool in our Social Quarters. The Brewers, Cubs and White Sox begin spring training this month in Arizona. The arrows point up for all 3 teams. Regular league play starts end of March. Notes: The use of our outdoor facilities is not limited to just athletic activities. Lots of room. If card playing is your thing, get a few people together to play. Board games are popular. And lots of space to search for the elusive Pokémon monsters. The refreshment stand is open during softball season starting the end of April for your favorite drink or snack, along with the kid s area. This year's activity fee is $10. Don't miss out on all the fun events in the coming year! Our goal is to concentrate on having more rides, whether it's our own or with other groups. Elections are coming up, maybe you've always wanted to be on the Board and bring in new ideas. (Some ladies send what they normally might spend on baking something) Being that our Lodge still needs a new roof I will be donating the proceeds to this great cause! 5 NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT It s February and LOVE is in the air! Valentine s Day is , so don t forget to acknowledge your family & friends on how much you appreciate them. February is also the month our WOTM start accepting applications for new board positions. We have so many member possibilities out there with skill and talents please start to think about why you joined and how great you could be to be part of this fraternal organization of Moose. ALL POSITIONS ARE OPEN: Meetings are held the 1st (Activity) & 3rd (Business) Tuesday s each 7PM Senior Regent: holds all chapter meetings and oversees the proper operation of the WOTM chapter Junior Regent: helps to perform the Sr. Regent duties in her absence, visits the ill, disabled & distress Recorder: collection and deposit of all chapter funds, pays bills, assures membership applications and information is handled in a proper/ timely manner with Moose Intl. Secretary Treasurer: documents all meeting minutes of the chapter, updates on correspondence received. *** see any WOTM board member for more details WE NEED YOU!
