Cost is $80.00 per player. Sign up sheets are in the front hall. One of the big events of August on the 11th will be our Rock N Roll BBQ. Brian Vergenz and his minions will be cooking up some great BBQ with the band "Personality Crisis" providing the rock and roll. Everything starts at 2:00 pm at the pavilion. See you all there! Rockin Russ will be DJing on the 18th. He plays great music and gets the crowd involved. It will be a fun night. This year we have the great Kenosha band, "Boys and Toys". Gates open at noon, all moose members with a valid membership card get in free! And you can bring some guests! Bring them down and lets show them we have a great time being a Moose! Up-coming events in September will be a Pilgrim Celebration for our newest Pilgrim, Brian Mifflin on the 22nd! Congratulations Brian! Well deserved. Sign up sheet will be posted in the front hall. You will need to sign up or RSVP to attend. Don't miss this important event. 2 2 NEWS FROM YOUR GOVERNOR Thanks to Paul Baumeister and his helpers for the great float in this years 4th of July parade. Their efforts got them a third place ribbon for the parade floats. Good work gang and thanks for getting the lodge into the parade. A great job was done by Mark Schneider in weeding out our kid's play area. It was in need of some TLC and looks great. Thanks. These are just two examples of all our great volunteers that do such a great job for our lodge and community. Without all your efforts in doing community events and lodge repairs we would be lost. To all our members, keep up the good work! And now for the big news! The roof is DONE!! The new roof looks great, let's hope it lasts another 30 plus years! Thanks to everyone who contributed to it's repair. Now on to our next project. The Elevator! 3 SPORTS Monday night pool continues. Ron and Darla Kramer are co-chairpersons. The action starts every Monday night, around 6:00 pm. Outside, the 2018 Softball season heads into the stretch run. Games are every night starting at 5:30 pm through August. Horseshoes pitched and bags tossed every Wednesday. The baggo is an informal get together and all members are invited to play. August 25th is the first kickball tournament we've held. Get your teams together! Check your for more information. The Green Bay Packers start preseason play on Thursday August 9th at 7:00 pm in Green Bay, followed on the 16th vs the Steelers. Then Friday August 24th in Oakland at 9:30 pm against the Raiders and then finish the preseason at KC., 7:30 pm on the 30th. The regular season starts with Da Bears in a Sunday night game in Green Bay on September 9th. Check this space out next month for Packer party info. The Mooseheart boys football season starts play this month. Homecoming is set for October 6th. Notes: Lodge business meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month at 7:30 pm. This is the memberships chance to ask questions and express their opinions to the Administrator, Governor and the Moose Board of officers and vote on issues for the lodge. We want to welcome Dan Threlkeld back to the Mooseriders. Also a great big Congratulations goes to two of our Riders, Jeff and Jeanne Wetherbee, on their recent wedding. We are all so very happy for you two!! August is a busy month with the Moose Picnic coming up on August 26. We will need some volunteers to help out at this time. More events, as usual are being planned. Feel free to join us at our monthly meetings with your ideas. If you haven't already joined, membership fees are $10 a year and the meeting are always on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7pm. Each of the events have turned out with wonderful memories and with no drama which is what we strive for to make the Moose Riders a success. 5 NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT I had the pleasure of attending the 2018 Moose International Convention in New Orleans in July. It was a great experience. There was a lot of discussion about growing the Moose Fraternity. We need to keep sharing what we are about and also sharing Mooseheart and Moosehaven. We are Moose on a Mission to grow our organization in order to be able to continue to support Mooseheart and Moosehaven for many years into the future. We also all need to work together to Make a Difference in people's lives. Our Mooseheart/Moosehaven Chair, Patti Mason, and Committee are holding a Cookbook Fundraiser. It will be kicked off at our WOTM Membership meeting on August 7th at 7 PM. Pull out some of your favorite recipes and submit them to be included in the Cookbook. Patti will have the forms to submit your recipes and will be taking pre-orders for the cookbook. Her activity will be creating Salad in a Jar right after the meeting. Everyone in attendance will be able take home a Salad in a Jar! It should be a fun time! If you can make it, please let Patti or I know so there is plenty of supplies for everyone. My cell is August 26th is the Moose Family Picnic. It is open to Moose Members and their qualified guests. It will be a lot of fun. Hope to see you there! Our Volunteer Coworker of the Month for July is Dot Ennis. Congratulations to Dot! We appreciate everything you do! On July 28th, we held a WOTM Training and invited other Chapters to come attend. Thank you to all of you who attended to learn more about the WOTM. We are still looking for volunteers for the kitchen, to make a dessert, and to help on the floor during. If you are available, we would really appreciate it if you could even commit to 1 Wednesday a month. There will be a sign-up sheet at our next meeting.
