1 NORTH RIDGEVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION Page 286 The North Ridgeville Board of Education met in Regular Session on October 17, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the North Ridgeville Academic Center s Community Room. FINALIZATION OF AGENDA Resolution 17: APPROVAL OF MINUTES It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the video transcribed meeting minutes for September 19, Further, it is recommended that a written summary of the special and regular minutes for the meetings on September 5, 2017 and September 19, 2017 be approved. SUPPLEMENTAL RESOLUTION TO APPOINT NON-CERTIFIED/NON-LICENSED INDIVIDUALS TO SUPPLEMENTAL TEACHING POSITIONS It is recommended that the Board of Education adopt the supplemental resolution as presented below: WHEREAS, the North Ridgeville Board of Education strives to appoint qualified, certified/licensed employees to fulfill supplemental contracts; and WHEREAS, the Board has offered the following supplemental positions to certified/licensed employees of the District; and WHEREAS, no such employee qualified to fill the position has accepted it; and WHEREAS, the position was then advertised to certified/licensed individuals who are not employed by the Board; and WHEREAS, no such person qualified to fill the position has accepted it; and WHEREAS, the Board has deemed the following non-licensed/non-certified individuals identified below as qualified to fill the supplemental position; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the North Ridgeville Board of Education, in compliance with O.R.C (D), awards the following supplemental contracts, for the contract year only, to the following individuals: Holzhauser, Ralph - Piano Accompanist - Middle School Sas, Lana - Safety Patrol Advisor - NRAC SUPPORT STAFF SUBSTITUTES It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the Support Staff Substitute appointments listed below for the school year only with compensation to be in accordance with the Board approved salary index. Employment will be on an as needed basis in accordance with rules, regulations and Board Policy governing such employment. These appointments are conditional based upon the content of the Criminal History Record Check as set forth in Board Policy GBQ.

Compensation will remain the same. This adjustment is due to changes in the District beginning this school year.

Compensation will remain the same. This adjustment is due to changes in the District beginning this school year. Welch, Tracey Ellen - adjust contract from a three (3) hour Cafeteria Server to a four and one-quarter (4.25) hour Cafeteria Server at the Academic Center effective October 18, 2017 for the contract year. Compensation will remain the same. This is a replacement position. SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACT It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the Supplemental contract adjustments listed below: Mravec, Cheryl M. - adjust Art Club Advisor- NRAC. This position will be shared by another employee and compensation will be at 50% to Art Club Advisor with compensation at 100%. Stalker-Bailey, Kathleen - adjust Art Club Advisor- NRAC. This position will be shared by another employee and compensation will be at 50% to Art Club Advisor with compensation at 100%. LEAVES OF ABSENCES CERTIFIED STAFF It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the Certified Staff Leave of Absence listed below. Carlo, Caitlin - paid FMLA/Maternity Leave effective September 5, 2017 through October 17, 2017 and paid FMLA/Medical Leave effective October 18, 2017 through November 2, 2017 and unpaid FMLA/Medical Leave effective November 3, 2017 through November 19, Caitlin plans to return to work on November 20, Gallagher, Sarah - paid Maternity Leave effective August 30, 2017 through September 10, Sarah returned to work on September 11, SUPPORT STAFF It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the Support Staff Leave of Absence listed below: Wilson, Donna L. - paid Medical Leave effective September 6, 2017 through October 8, Donna returned to work on October 9, 2017.

Browning, Marie - effective October 12, 2017 Herman, Linda - effective October 13, 2017 REIMBURSEMENTS IN-LIEU-OF TRANSPORTATION It is recommended that the Board of Education adopt the following resolution: WHEREAS the student(s) identified below have been determined to be residents of this school district, and eligible for transportation services; and WHEREAS after a careful evaluation of all available options, it has been determined that it is impractical to provide transportation for these student(s) to their selected school(s); and WHEREAS the following factors as identified in Revised Code have been considered: 1. The time and distance required to provide the transportation;

(2) $ was donated by American Legion Auxiliary Post 717, North Ridgeville to put towards the purchases of teacher resources at Liberty School. 15 NORTH RIDGEVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION Page 300 HEARING OF PUBLIC ON NEW ITEMS * Ms. Renee Villare asked a question about the HS Exterior study. It was stated that the brickwork has had issues since the initial construction of the building and that water and moisture have been problems. Study indicated that major repairs are needed, but that any repairs or construction needs to be incorporated into the master plan for the district. Resolution 17: ADJOURN TO EXECUTIVE SESSION at 7:02 p.m. It is recommended that the Board of Education enter in Executive Session to review negotiations or bargaining sessions with employees concerning compensation or other terms and conditions of their employment and to consider confidential information related to specific business of an applicant for economic development assistance, and that is necessary to protect the possible investment or expenditure of public funds to be made in connection with the economic development project.
