1 COMMISSIONERS COURT MEETING MINUTES BE IT REMEMBERED that on this 25 th day of April, 2005, the Commissioners Court of Kaufman County, Texas met in regular session with the following members present to wit: Wayne Gent, County Judge; Jerry Rowden, Commissioner Precinct No. 1; Ken Leonard, Commissioner Precinct No. 2; Kenneth Schoen, Commissioner Precinct No. 3; Jim Deller, Commissioner Precinct No. 4; and Laura Hughes, County Clerk. MOTION TO APPROVE MINUTES There came on to be considered a motion to approve the minutes for the meeting of April 18, MOTION TO ACCEPT REPORT There came on to be considered a motion to accept Racial Profile Report, presented by Kenneth Garvin, Constable Pct. 4. MOTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION There came on to be considered a motion to approve resolution for the submission of the Delinquency Prevention and Intervention Grant Application to Criminal Justice Division of the Governor s Office. A motion was made by Commissioner Jerry Rowden and seconded by Commissioner Jim Deller. MOTION TO ACCEPT REPORT There came on to be considered a motion to accept Auditor s Report for March A motion was made by Commissioner Kenneth Schoen and seconded by Commissioner Jim Deller. MOTION TO APPROVE APPOINTMENT There came on to be considered a motion to approve appointing Harvey Chitty to the Kaufman County Rural Emergency Services District #3 to fill vacancy. 2 MOTION TO TABLE POSITION There came on to be considered a motion to table creating a position of Assistant Coordinator for the purpose of correcting and updating the Kaufman County mapping system. A motion was made by Commissioner Ken Leonard and seconded by Commissioner Jim Deller. MOTION TO APPROVE INTERNET ACCESS There came on to be considered a motion to approve providing Internet access and to Kaufman County Children s Shelter at no recurring cost. MOTION TO APPROVE AUTHORIZATION There came on to be considered a motion to approve authorizing Precinct 4 to purchase equipment under exemption of Local Government Code-Chapter MOTION TO APPROVE POSITIONS There came on to be considered a motion to approve designating two Training Coordinator positions in the Sheriff s Training School. MOTION TO TABLE POSITIONS There came on to be considered a motion to table establishing the position of GIS technician for the Sheriff s Office. 3 MOTION TO APPROVE AGREEMENT There came on to be considered a motion to approve Inter-local Agreement between the County of Kaufman, Texas and the City of Kemp, Texas to repair bridge, Precinct 4. A motion was made by Commissioner Jerry Rowden and seconded by Commissioner Jim Deller. MOTION TO TABLE BUDGET AMENDMENT There came on to be considered a motion to table amending the Child Protective Services (CPS) budget. A motion was made by Commissioner Jerry Rowden and seconded by Commissioner Ken Leonard. There came on to be considered a motion to approve Deputation of Angela Brockway for the Kaufman There came on to be considered a motion to approve Deputation of Michael A. Johnson for the Kaufman A motion was made by Commissioner Ken Leonard and seconded by Commissioner Jim Deller. There came on to be considered a motion to approve Deputation of David W. Warnock for the Kaufman MOTION TO APPROVE LINE ITEM TRANSFERS There came on to be considered a motion to approve line item transfers. A motion was made by Commissioner Kenneth Schoen and seconded by Commissioner Ken Leonard MOTION TABLE BIDS There came on to be considered a motion to table bid proposals (no bids received on time) Software packages for Computer Aided Dispatch, Record Management, Automated Field Reporting, Automated COMM COURT Page 3 of 5 9/6/2005

4 Vehicle Location and Mobile Data computing for Sheriff s Department. Rebids to be submitted no later than 5:oo p.m. on May 13, Bids opened on May 16, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. MOTION TO APPROVE CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT There came on to be considered a motion to approve claims for payment. A motion was made by Commissioner Jim Deller and seconded by Commissioner Ken Leonard. MOTION TO ADJOURN There came on to be considered a motion to adjourn regular meeting.
