Coordinators' meeting (in camera) till 09:37 The meeting resumed at 09:40, with Cecilia Wikström (Chair) presiding. 2. Adoption of draft agenda (1) The agenda was adopted, with the postponement of the consideration of the Fact Finding Visit to Larnaca (item 8) and the presentation of the Study 'Effective access to Justice' (item 14), as the final texts were not available. The Chair also announced that the meeting in the afternoon would start at 15.30, with the AFCO committee, for the presentation of the Commission proposal for the regulation on the citizens initiative (PETI invited as associate committee under rule 54). The PETI meeting to be resumed at Approval of minutes of the meeting of: October 2017 The minutes were approved. 4. Chair's announcements None. 5. Any other business None. (1) In accordance with the committee s Guidelines 2016, items in sections B of the draft agenda will not be discussed during the current meeting. However any PETI Member may ask before the end of the meeting for an item in section B to be kept open; it will then be automatically included in the Coordinators agenda for a decision on its further treatment at a subsequent Coordinators meeting. Chair's announcements concerning Coordinators' decisions 1) Reports and opinions The Chair was appointed Rapporteur for a non-legislative opinion on Monitoring the application of EU law in 2016 (lead committee JURI), with 0 points. No opinion will be drafted on the 2017 Justice Scoreboard. 2) Contested recommendations Petition 0624/17 (protection of local and municipal police in Italy) will remain open. NB: the PETI committee decided, later in the morning, to keep open two petitions (0696/16 and 0093/17) concerning the same subject, and to write a letter to the Italian authorities. Chair s compromises were approved for petitions 0676/17, 0680/17, 0682/17 (the three petitions were closed). As regards petition 0680/17, it was also decided to send a letter to the French Permanent Representation. Petition 0698/17 was declared inadmissible, following a vote. 3) Requests concerning B-items Petitions 0318/13, 2071/14, 0173/17 were closed. Petitions 1101/16 and 0029/17 will be forwarded for information, respectively, to DROI, and to EMPL and IMCO, and then closed. 4) Research programme 2018 and the use of STOA Coordinators took note of various documents provided by Policy Department C. The Research Programmes 2018 will be approved by written procedure (additions and deletions to be proposed by 5 December). A proposal for a study as a follow up to a previous Brexit study was approved to be included in the PETI research programme. With regard to STOA, a proposal on clean road transport vehicles was approved and will be submitted to STOA on behalf of the Committee on Petitions. 5) Launching a new balayage The decision on the EPP request to launch a balayage for petitions older than five years was postponed to January. 6) OQ with a resolution on issues raised in the PETI hearing of 22 November The decision on the EFDD request to table an oral question with resolution on Protection of the rights of workers in temporary or precarious employment was postponed to January. 7) Any other business PE v /10 PV\ docx
