1 Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau November 2018 Newsletter CLINTON S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE 2018 Grand Marshal Announced The Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau wishes to announce that Sheriff Jared Shofner has been named as the 2018 Clinton Christmas Parade Grand Marshal. Jared was nominated by Stephanie Metter, John R. Baker, Debbie Shofner, Mary Jordan, Ruth Vogel, Joann Woolums, John & Mary Jane Workman, G. Wayne & Judy Hight. Excerps from the nomination letters read as follows: Jared always lived and behaved with dignity and honesty. He is a mentor for young people in the community and in the workplace. He has a reputation for being a leader and an outstanding sheriff in our county." "Jared has served for three decades with the Sheriff's Department, served on the Drug Task Enforcement, Past President of Rotary Club, Past President of the YMCA, on the board of The Vault. "Jared even slept in a cardboard box to see how he could help people." "Jared has served DeWitt County for over 30 years in law enforcement, including duties as a Dispatcher, Detective, Deputy, Task Force and finally, Sheriff." "Jared has been involved with Big Brothers-Big Sisters, serving as a role model. He has helped implement programs for the elderly, and active in developing safe church and school measures." The Clinton Chamber of Commerce wishes to congratulate Sheriff Jared Shofner on being selected Clinton Christmas Parade Grand Marshal for Thank you for your service to the community of Clinton and DeWitt County. Sheriff Shofner will drive a DeWitt County Sheriff car leading the Clinton Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2:00pm. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum s Carriage Barn. Woods Photography Studio will be taking pictures. All are invited to bring the little ones or the entire family for a holiday photo.
