Received from OAPSB Zone 2 Date September 7, 2018 Topic Notice of Fall 2018 OAPSB Meeting SUMMARY We received a notice of the fall 2018 OAPSB Meeting being held Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Ramada Inn in Cornwall. 3 CARLETON PLACE POLICE SERVICES BOARD REGULAR MEETING Minutes June 4, 2018 Council Chamber 4:30 p.m. Present: C. Gray, Sgt. R. Croth, Councillor Fritz, W. Drummond, Jill Bennett, L. Reynolds (Administrator), Diane Smithson (CAO), Pascal Meunier Regrets: Mayor L. Antonakos I. CALL TO ORDER The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:31pm. The Administrator introduced Pascal Meunier to the members of the Board. Mr. Meunier will be assuming the role of PSB Secretary on July 3. II. III. DELEGATIONS: None ADOPTION OF MINUTES: Motion Moved by Chris Gray Seconded by Jill Bennett THAT the minutes of the regular meeting held April 23, 2018 be approved as circulated. CARRIED IV. COMMUNICATIONS 473. Received from Ontario Association of Police Services Boards Date May 1, 2018 Topic Use of Corporate Resources for Election Purposes SUMMARY That the Board approve that the attached Town of Carleton Place policy, Use of Corporate Resources for Election Purposes shall apply to the use of the Board s resources during the 2018 municipal election campaign period. The OAPSB has informed us of the requirement for the PSB to adopt a policy on the use of corporate resources for election purposes. STAFF RECOMMENDATION That the Board approve that the attached Town of Carleton Place policy, Use of Corporate Resources for Election Purposes shall apply to the use of the Board s resources during the 2018 municipal election campaign period.

CARRIED 474. Received from Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Date May 8, 2018 Topic Passing of Bill 175, Royal Assent of the Safer Ontario Act, 2018 SUMMARY We received a letter and memorandum regarding Bill 175, the Safer Ontario Act, It repeals and replaces Ontario s Police Services Act, amends the Coroners Act, and creates the Missing Persons Act, 2018 and the Forensic Laboratories Act, STAFF RECOMMENDATION Receive and Record. BOARD DECISION Receive and Record V. REPORTS Jill Bennet provided a report on the OAPSB Conference she attended. VI. BUSINESS/DISCUSSIONS REQUIRING PARTICIPATION OF DETACHMENT COMMANDER 1. Financial Statements None 2. Detachment Commander s Report Sgt. Croth provided OPP comments about the planned construction projects involving the Hwy. 7/15 area and replacement of the Central Bridge Planning is underway for this year s beach bash Bike patrols are going well Morris St. speeds are being monitored following expressions of concern from some residents

CASE Grant application Motion Moved by Wayne Drummond Seconded by Chris Gray THAT the Board supports the application that has been made for a Supporting Police Response to Sexual Violence and Harassment Grant to fund a Collaborative Approaches to Survivor Engagement (CASE) program. CARRIED 2. Jill Bennett updated the Board on a recent meeting she attended with representatives of the Municipal Drug Strategy Committee in relation to the proposed Icelandic Model initiative. X.
