1 January 17, 2017, Nebraska The Holt County Board of Supervisors met as a Board of Equalization with all members present. County Assessor Tim Wallinger, County Treasurer Connie Krotter and County Clerk Cathy Pavel were also in attendance. This meeting publicized pursuant to Section R.R.S Chairman Boshart convened the meeting at 9:30 A.M. with the flag salute. Motion by Hahlbeck, 2 nd by Metschke, to approve the minutes of the December 30, 2016 meeting as printed. Voting Aye: Paxton, Metschke, Tielke, Hahlbeck, Snyder, Butterfield and Boshart. Motion carried. Motion by Tielke, 2 nd by Butterfield, to approve the tax list corrections # through # as submitted by the Assessor. Voting Aye: Metschke, Tielke, Hahlbeck, Snyder, Butterfield, Paxton and Boshart. Voting Nay: None. Motion carried. Chairman Boshart adjourned the meeting at 9:35 A.M. January 17, 2017, Nebraska The Holt County Board of Supervisors met in regular session as per adjournment with all members present. This meeting publicized pursuant to Section R.R.S Chairman Tielke convened the meeting at 9:45 A.M. and informed the public of the location of the Open Meeting Poster. Motion by Butterfield, 2 nd by Hahlbeck, to approve the minutes of the January 11, 2017 meeting as printed. Voting Aye: Hahlbeck, Butterfield, Boshart, Paxton, Metschke and Tielke. Voting Nay: None. Abstain: Snyder. Motion carried. The Treasurers Report was presented and placed on file. The Board acknowledged receipt of the Holt County Treasurer s Semi Annual Report and placed on file. The Finance Committee reported that the County Officials had remitted their monthly fees to the County Treasurer as required. Motion by Snyder, 2 nd by Metschke, to set the 1 & 6 Year Road Improvement for February 16, 2017 at 11:15 A.M. in the Holt County Board of Supervisors meeting room. Voting Aye: Snyder, Butterfield, Boshart, Paxton, Metschke, Hahlbeck and Tielke. Voting Nay: None. Motion carried. Road Superintendent Gary Connot presented his Department Activity Report. Hourly road wages were discussed. Sheriff Ben Matchett and Deputy Sheriff Ed Nordby were present to discuss wages with the Board. Motion by Metschke, 2 nd by Hahlbeck, to increase the hourly wage for the Chief Deputy to $22.50, the Sergeant Deputy to $21.10, the Investigator to $20.50, the K-9 Deputy to $20.60, the Deputies to $19.60 and Part-time Deputies to $ Voting Aye: Butterfield, Boshart, Paxton, Metschke, Hahlbeck, Snyder and Tielke. Voting Nay: None. Motion carried. Motion by Boshart, 2 nd by Butterfield, to increase the hourly wages for the Jail Sergeant to $16.20, the Jail Corporal to $15.00 and the Jail Corrections Officer to $ Voting Aye: Boshart, Paxton, Metschke, Hahlbeck, Snyder, Butterfield and Tielke. Voting Nay: None. Motion carried. The Board recessed for lunch at 12:12 P.M. Chairman Tielke reconvened the meeting at 1:13 P.M. with all members present. RESOLUTION # OF THE HOLT COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WHEREAS, the following banks have made application for the privilege of being designated as depositories of the monies of Holt County: Pinnacle Bank The Tri-County Bank Stuart Chambers State Bank Chambers Great Western Bank BankFirst Great Plains State Bank Farmers State Bank Atkinson WHEREAS, all of the above banks will deposit, pledge or grant a security interest in their assets or provide a deposit guaranty bond for the security and payment for all of Holt County s deposits and accretions as required by law. WHEREAS, said securities will be deposited in escrow as provided by law for the safety of any and all public monies deposited and invested in said banks by Holt County s duly elected and acting County Treasurer. WHEREAS, these banks have agreed to abide by all provisions of the law with respect to the deposit and investment of public monies. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the above banks be designated and named the depositories of the public monies and that the Treasurer of Holt County, Nebraska, be, and hereby is authorized and empowered to deposit and invest the public monies now in hand or hereinafter to be acquired as such Treasurer, in the above banks in the manner and within the limits provided and prescribed by law. The foregoing resolution was introduced by Supervisor Hahlbeck, who moved its adoption. Supervisor Snyder seconded the motion. Voting Aye: Paxton, Metschke, Hahlbeck, Snyder, Butterfield, Boshart and Tielke. Voting Nay: None. Motion carried. The Board conducted the Quarterly Jail Visit. Motion by Boshart, 2 nd by Hahlbeck, to allow the following claims. Voting Aye: Metschke, Hahlbeck, Snyder, Butterfield, Boshart, Paxton and Tielke. Voting Nay: None. Motion carried.
