1 Deuel County Commissioner Meeting June 20, 2018 The Deuel County Commissioners met on the above date with the following officials present: Chairperson Steve Fischer, Commissioner William Klingman, Commissioner Jerry Radke, County Attorney Joel Jay and County Clerk Polly Olson. The meeting, notice of which was published in the Chappell Register as according to law, was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence. Reference was made to open meeting laws, posted at the entrance of the room. The agenda was approved upon motion of Commissioner Radke, second of Commissioner Klingman, Fischer, aye, Klingman, aye, Radke, aye. The minutes of the June 5, 2018 meeting upon motion of Commissioner Klingman, second of Commissioner Radke. Fischer, aye, Klingman, aye, Radke, aye. Upon motion of Commissioner Radke, second of Commissioner Klingman, the board entered into the Board of Equalization to hear tax list corrections in and for Deuel County at 8:31 a.m. Fischer, aye, Radke, aye, Klingman, aye. Upon motion of Commissioner Klingman, second of Commissioner Radke, the Board of Equalization adjourned and reconvened the regular meeting at 8:33 a.m. Fischer, aye, Klingman, aye, Radke, aye. Tony Armer, representing Maneilli, Wagner and Associates, presented the annual contract for highway superintendent services. The amount will remain the same, $ per month. Upon motion of Commissioner Klingman, second of Commissioner Radke, the contract is approved. Fischer, aye, Klingman, aye, Radke, aye. Noxious Weed Supt. Cris Burks met with the board to give a monthly report of activities within the weed dept. Discussion was held regarding the heating and air conditioning in the courthouse. A concern was address that the unit may not be regulating each office as it was designed to do. It was reported that a part needed to be repaired in the main unit. Bids for the painting of the courthouse trim were discussed. Brent Robb of Ogallala and Susan Riley of Chappell were present to provide any clarification of their bids. The lowest bid did not include the cost of materials, the next bid included more than what was needed. No decision was made at this time. It will be on the July 3 meeting. Discussion was held regarding the employee pay raises to be effective on July Providing a 2% cost of living increase which would be.31 cents per hour. Keeping the longevity plan for each employee and allowing a.25 cent per hour increase would be approximately $ increase annually. Motion was made by Commissioner Radke, each employee would receive a.35 cent per hour increase and a.10 cent increase for those previously defined as road foremen. Motion died for lack of second. Upon motion of Commissioner Klingman, individuals that were previously designated as foremen will receive a.10 cent increase, the rest will receive.31 cents per hour increase, the custodian will receive $15.00 per hour, second of Radke. Olson Deuel County Board of Equalization June 20, 2018 The Deuel County Board of Equalization met on the above date to hear Tax List Corrections in and for Deuel County with the following officials present: Commissioners Fischer, Klingman, Radke, County Assessor Schievelbein and Clerk Olson. Tax List Correction #825, Property ID Increasing a homestead exemption that indicated correction after state audit. Tax payer is eligible for 50% exemption instead of 100% in Tax List Correction #826, Property ID 152, Correcting a clerical error, the improvements are not single family residence, it is a double-wide trailer. Upon motion of Commissioner Klingman, second of Radke, Tax List Correction #825 and #826 are approved. Fischer, aye, Klingman, aye, Radke, aye.
