Memo: 2013 Recruitment Initiatives Chief Frederick stated that all outreach initiatives have been ongoing and well-received. The PEACE and Women Only information sessions are novel in the province and across Canada. Great initiatives have been taken by the Training Branch and Inspector Crowley. Moved by Mr. Ray, seconded by Councillor Gignac and carried to note and file the report as F. PAYG Funding Approval for WPS CAD, Records Management Server Upgrade G. Presentation: University of Windsor, Campus Community Police, Annual Report 2012/2013 Director Michael MacKinnon

3 Director MacKinnon explained that the report is for the fiscal period from May to April It is completed through the Vice Provost Student International Office, which has changed as they use to report to the Office of Administration Finance Vice President. Through the operational change, strategies with regards to policing have changed: the University of Windsor Campus Police have increased their educational and support role rather than their enforcement role. Councillor Gignac inquired if there are comparator data banks to illustrate how the university compares to other campuses in terms of incidences. Director MacKinnon stated that there are data bases and none have been checked although they can be. SECTION 4 A. POLICY SECTION 5 1. SERVICE BUDGET/FINANCIAL MATTERS/BOARD ACCOUNTS A. 5 SECTION 8 1. READING/INFORMATION & GOVERNMENT MATTERS A. Correspondence from Minister of Public Safety, Transfer of Nikkolas Brennan Chief stated he has had discussions with the Windsor Police Association and will follow up with the names provided in the correspondence. A phone call has been made to Mr. Don Head, CSC Commissioner and they are awaiting a response. B. Letter of Appreciation from Transit Windsor C. Letter of Appreciation from University of Windsor, Student Awards Mr. Ray commented that students who receive awards should also communicate some gratitude to the WPSB and convey what they plan to do with the funds. Mrs. Bacarro stated that the last communication of thanks received from a student was in March D. Ontario Civilian Police Commission, Annual Report 2012 (PDF available at under Publications) E.
