The club will furnish the chicken and usual beverages. Donna Best will be helping Sharon Griess. Members should bring a side dish, salad or dessert in addition to their own table service. Dinner Tours The dinner tour on October 30th will be to Legends in Claytonia. Meet at 5 pm at Shell station near Saltillo and Hiway 77. In November we will go to Pizza Ranch on north 84th St. MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL Please send membership renewal of $24 to Dave Allder by December 31, 2014 or you may bring it to the November meeting. HOW TO CHECK CONDENSER FOR GOOD SPARK. 1. Remove distributor cap, body and rotor. 2. Close points. 3. Turn on ignition switch. 4. Place high tension wire (from coil center) to one inch from good ground on engine. 5. Open points with screw driver, then close. (You should have a large spark with straight line). Also blue tinge. ***With a bad condenser, you will still have jump but with low spark***

Dave received the West Point News Sponsor Award with his 1929 AA Truck. Bob & Judy received 1st place in the 1936 and older class. There were over 850 cars in the show. Congratulations Former members passing. Roy Winton of Princeton passed away in Sept. He had been a member of our Club in the distant past. OUT & ABOUT IN YOUR MODEL A DECEMBER 6th Club Christmas Party at Misty s June Midwest Regional Meet, St. Joseph, MO Norfolk Tour, October 3rd -5th. Members attending the Hero s and Heroine s Tour were Dick & Jerry Waechter, Harry & Laverne Johnston, Dean & Margaret Mays and Dale Kirkland. Places visited included the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, the downtown Fire Station, the Elkhorn Valley Museum, and the Veterans Home including the Veterans Pavilions and Hero s Park. From Your President.. Touring has come to an end and by now some of us have probably put our A s to bed for the winter. Election of the governing board will take place soon and the Christmas party will follow in December to round out our year. Don t forget to renew your MAFCA membership and also send club membership renewal to Dave. As I mentioned in the last newsletter, lets start thinking about attending the 2015 Regional Meet in St. Joseph, Mo. It s only a short 140 mile drive, an easy trip for a Model A. Margaret

3 Oct. 11, 2014 Cornhusker Model A Club Meeting Minutes The Cornhusker Model A Ford Club (CMAFC) was called to order by President Margaret Mays at 7:35 p.m. with 26 members and no guests present. New member, Gary Horn attended his first meeting. Best wishes were extended to those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Bill Buckley made a motion seconded by Jerry Waechter that the minutes of the September 2014 meeting be approved as distributed via and printed newsletters. Motion passed. Treasurer s Report Jenn Elliott Heetderks gave the following report: Starting Checking Balance: $3, Ending Checking Balance: $3, Starting Savings Balance: $3, Ending Savings Balance: $3, ($.11 interest). Bills Submitted The following bills were submitted and a motion made by Lumir Vajgrt, seconded by Jim Cook and approved to pay as presented: Margaret Mays - $15.69 for newsletter; Dick Waechter $12.00 for Car Council dues. Committee Reports Activities: Sharon Griess was ill so there was no activities report. Plans were confirmed to have a pot luck in November. Each family is to bring a salad or dessert and main dish if choose. Bill Buckley volunteered to bring chicken as the main dish. Due to the potluck, CMAFC will begin at 6:30 pm on Sat. Nov. 1 Parades and Tours: Dick Waechter reported that events are winding down. He said there was a good turnout for the Norfolk event the first weekend in Oct. He also spoke of a Fremont Swap Meet on October 13. He recommended attending the TMCO open house on Friday Oct. 24. The firm located near 6 th and J does powder coating as well as many other specialty metal fabrications. Dinner Tours: Darrell Best reported the October dinner run will be to Legends in Clatonia a site recommended by Dean Mays. Plan to meet at 77 and Saltillo at the gas station at 5:00pm on October 30. In November the group will go to Pizza Ranch in Lincoln. Sunshine: Helen Sougey was absent. Jerry Waechter had received a thank you note from Sharon Griess who is now back at home. Secretary Judi Cook read the note aloud for the group.. Calling Committee: Laverne Johnston reported that she had not made any calls the last month. Car Council Dick Waechter and Bob Callaway reported that Members of the Car Council had met with the new director of the Lancaster Co. Event Center to discuss the rate increases for the swap meet proposed by the new director. Dick reported that the same rates will be charged in 2015 as in 2014, but there would likely be additional costs in Membership: Dave Allder was absent. President Mays reminded members to pay their dues. General Interest: Judy Callaway thanked Bill Buckley for providing equipment so that members could watch a DVD after the meeting that she had purchased when visiting the Boyer Museum in Belleville Kansas. The museum features a great selection of creative handmade animated figures crafted by Mr. Boyer. Historian: Janet Beauvais was not at the meeting. Tech Seminars: Leo Sougey and Ed Taylor were not at the meeting. Christmas Party: Jerry Waechter reported that a sign up for the Christmas party was in the newsletter and checks would happily be accepted. Nominating Committee President Mays reported that Joan Taylor was chairing this committee. However, Joan was not at the last meeting and was currently out of town so there was no report from Joan. Margaret had contacted the current secretary and treasurer who agreed to serve another term. She also had solicited names for board directors. Nick Heetderks and Darrell Best agreed to be on the ballot. No one Margaret asked agreed to be placed on the ballot for the position of president elect. Discussion followed regarding the by-laws related to election procedure. Jim Cook made a motion seconded by Bill Buckley to waive the by-laws to allow current president elect Joan Taylor additional time to complete the slate of candidates. The motion passed. Old Business. Jim Cook reported that Part Swantak called Jim looking for a Doug Swanson as Pat s brother has a 29 Tudor Model A for sale. (Later communication indicated it was actually a 1930). Bill Buckley reported that Charlie Martin s 1937 Buick is for sale and reviewed the story of how it was originally Charlie s car when new, he sold it and later bought it back. It received numerous trophies. Jim Cook reported that he had attended an auction in Minden where restored 1929 and1930 Model A coupes sold for $13,000 and $15, respectively. Gary Horn spoke up and said he was the purchaser of the 1930 New Business: No items of new business were introduced. A suggestion was made by Darrell Best to consider a Model A drive around Lincoln similar to one done several years ago. Carpool: Bill Buckley won the carpool. Adjournment: Meeting ended at 8:06 p.m. following a motion made by Donna Best, seconded by Roberta Mittan and passed. Judi Cook, Secretary Sunday, November 2nd, after the meeting.
