2 Valentine s Day Potluck Our Valentine s Day Pot Luck is February 9th, at 6:15 p.m. Please use the back entrance as the exercise group won t have finished in the front. There is a sign-up list on the bulletin board, so sign up for a Hot Dish, Side Dish or Salad Committee will furnish dessert. The Club will provide place settings. Dress in Valentine colors red and white or pink and white. Club Business News from the January 12 membership meeting: 5th Thursday in March will be snack night and baseball opening day party! We ll dance to tapes that night. Dress in the colors or jerseys for your favorite team. Soda sales at hoedowns are working out well. It was suggested that we offer sodas during workshop nights also. Melissa Stoufer and Nancy Azevedo volunteered to be on the Nominating Committee for this year s elections. Tom and Jan Woodard, Dick and Mary Ann Harkey, and Dave and Patty Green volunteered to be on the next Christmas party committee. We will ask for Sunday, December 9th. Patty Green and Nancy Azevedo will be shopping soon for fabric for Club outfits. Guests are very important and we want to encourage guests to keep coming. Also, we want to keep people dancing if they come without their spouses. 2
3 WINTERFEST 2012 King City From Nancy Azevedo: We had a great time at Winterfest. Those representing us were the Stoufers, Greens, Harkeys, Plasses, Woodards, Turners, Palmieris, Cindy McCarthy-John Sinclair and the Azevedos. We didn't let the rain dampen our spirits. We got plenty of exercise and fun dancing to Bobby Baier, Tony Oxendine, Jet Roberts, Bronc Wise and Jerry Story. For those of you who missed it, hopefully we will see you there next year. From Patty Green: WinterFest was great, as usual but for me it was much better than last year my feet, legs, hands and arms were actually working normally no Guillane-Barre this time! Yeah!! Nancy listed the folks who attended from our Club and here is a picture of the group. I was really happy to see our newest dancers Joan, Jim, Cindy and John were able to attend. They seemed to have a great time and they danced really well!! I know Patty and Evan had planned to attend, but were both under the weather they were missed. Pete, I think Evan may be your competition at the after parties in the future. ha ha ha Pete and Gloria we missed you hope the wedding was beautiful!!... 3
4 This year s after party theme was Under the Sea and as always, the callers dressed for the theme. Bob Baier was a Ghost Ship that is his mast on his head. Jet Roberts (almost missed him) was Sponge Bob Square Pants Tony Oxendine was a penguin. Jerry Story wasn t crabby at all, though he dressed like one. Bronc Wise helped answer the question What happened to Jimmy Hoffa? Dave and Mary Ann dressed for the costume parade, but alas, they did not win (sigh). The folks who made the Yellow Submarine took the prize, hands down!! Dave snorkeled with his fish Mary Ann was a group of under-sea bubbles. Don t know the group, but they totally sucked up to the callers with their pictures in the windows of the sub and more sigh This is always a fun weekend and one where we get to spend time with our group of friends eating, dancing, having fun so I hope everyone will plan to join in the fun next year. There will be a couple caller changes for 2013 Jet and Bronc won t be calling, but Romney Tannehill and Eric Henerlau will be added to the program. Registration forms are available on the wall in the front of Monroe Hall (light green color), so sign-up early. 4
5 Birthdays & Anniversaries Happy Birthday to Bill Splaine (Feb 4), Mary Desideri (Feb 9), Larry Van Orden (Feb 23) and Patty Green (Feb 26). Happy Anniversary Reed & Sue Beaman (Feb 15) and Larry & Myra Van Orden (Feb 20). Just a note about Gordon Lewis Marilyn keeps us up to date on his progress and it sounds like he is feeling a little better and starting to have some of his spark back. If you get a chance to drop him a note or better yet, a joke I am sure he would appreciate hearing from any / all of us. News from Adobe Squares By Fred Bartow The Adobe Squares started a newer dancer class on Tuesday, January 24 from 7:00 to 8:30pm at the Petaluma Woman s Club. More information is available on our web site, Also, our Anniversary dance that we normally have in February with the Ghost Riders has been cancelled.
