He also asked that everyone check the membership roster to verify their contact information. Alan asked that everyone present introduce themselves to the group.. GUESTS ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL No guests were in attendance tonight. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A correction to the May meeting minutes was made by adding the Omaha Early Ford V8 Club that was in attendance at the May meeting but neglected to sign in on the roster. Leonard Bouc made a motion to approve the minutes as amended and Kerry Fox seconded the motion. Motion carried.
3 TREASURER S REPORT Treasurer Boyd Ready read the Treasurer s report. Motion to approve treasurer s report by Jim Snyder and seconded by Connie Johnson. Motion carried. Three bills were submitted for payment. One by Cindy Wimmer for $60.05 for the production of the May newsletter, one that has already been paid to Yahoo for $ for the website. (We need to reimburse Kurt Balhorn for this). And another bill to reimburse Boyd Ready for the $10.00 that he has already paid to the Secretary of State. Jim Snyder made a motion to approve the payment of the bills and seconded by Connie Johnson. Motion carried. SWAP MEET Kerry Fox said there is nothing to report on this year s swap meet.. INSURANCE COMMITTEE REPORT Ron Gillis said that the committee is having a meeting with Farm Bureau Insurance next week. Farm Bureau is still insuring us until January 1, Our insurance issues should be wrapped up by next month. Coverage now has gone up from $ per year to over $3, per year. The Insurance Committee is also going to talk to the Shriners in Omaha about our bi-monthly insurance coverage as we see no reason to have to carry insurance for our meetings. Kerry Fox has talked to another insurance company about coverage and they said that maybe we shouldn t have our meetings at the Shriners meeting hall in Omaha because of the costs. We will need to talk to the Shriners about this. One insurance company said that the insurance policy could go up as much as $1, a year just to have 6 meetings a year in Omaha at the Shriners facility. This is the first year that the Shriners have asked us to provide insurance coverage for our meetings. Ron said that there are only so many insurance companies that will cover an event as large as the Lincoln Swap Meet. CHANGE IN THE BYLAWS There was a motion to approve the change in the bylaws as printed in the April newsletter by Roy Murabito and seconded by Boyd Ready. Motion carried. The By-laws are now as follows:

12 GET WHEEL ISSUES BY AND HELP US SAVE $$$ It costs the Car Council to print and mail on average $2.60 per newsletter for each one sent by U.S. mail. Help us lower our expenses and get your copy of Wheel Issues by . Please provide your address to the Secretary at the next Council meeting to receive it directly. HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS GOLDEN CORRAL MEETING POLICY FOR USE OF ROOM REMINDER Prior to the November 2012 meeting, the manager of the Golden Corral brought to the attention of Vice President Roy Murabito that his staff have reported instances of meeting attendees not paying for food taken from the buffet lines. We are allowed to use the meeting room for free provided that meeting attendees purchase meals. If there are future instances of people not paying for meals or other items consumed (coffee, pop, etc.), we run the risk of losing our present Lincoln meeting location. Please do not abuse or jeopardize our current arrangement with Golden Corral. COUNCIL BY-LAWS CURRENT EDITION AVAILABILITY A copy of the most-current revision of the By-Laws, which was made in 2004 and does include the current dues policy, is available. Those wishing a copy of this are asked to contact the Secretary to obtain one. LINCOLN MEETING ROOM REMINDERS The meeting room at the Golden Corral in Lincoln is to be configured to place the Council s officers against the west wall in an effort to improve communication during the meeting. Please help us by holding tables on the west center side of the room open for officers. Thank you for your cooperation. PLEASE STAND AND SPEAK UP!! Due to the open layout and large size of the Crescent meeting room in Omaha, as well as the configuration of the meeting room in Lincoln, it is difficult for many attendees to hear conversations and discussion during the meeting. PLEASE stand and speak up for the benefit of attendees and the Secretary so that accurate notes can
13 be obtained. It would also be appreciated if non-related conversations be kept at a minimum during the business portion of the meeting as a courtesy to attendees. AGENDA ORDER NO EVENT DISCUSSION BEFORE IT S TIME, PLEASE Representatives are reminded that meetings of the Council follow an established agenda as follows (* - When Required): 1. Opening/Introductions - President 2.* Guests Addressing/Presenting to the Council* 3. Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting 4. Treasurer s Report - Treasurer 5. EVENTS DISCUSSION: Discussion of past and upcoming events is to be held following close of New Business as the last items before adjournment. Please help meetings proceed in a more-orderly fashion by withholding discussion of events until that portion of the agenda is opened by the President or presiding officer.
