1 FVAEA General Meeting January 24,2016 Meeting was called to order at 2:05 by President Aaron Giese. The pledge of allegiance was said. A thank you to all who brought food and those who cleaned up after dinner. The treasurers report was given. Mel made a motion to accept the report as given. Garland seconded. It was unanimous. We had gotten behind with the reading of November & December minutes. Sharon read them and there was a motion to accept them as read. The motion was voted on and passed unanimously. Mel Berry proposed we have a swap meet at the heritage fair. Ina Jefferies seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously. Lynda explained the By-Laws and also the IRA forms. Ina said these papers need to be caught up to date in case of an audit. CCF in August. Dean said there was a real positive note about our show at the fair, keep adding things to make it look better. Bill spoke of a password protection on the website. Will discuss it later and maybe have the wigwag paper on line. Richard Cooper resigned as Board of Director. There was a board meeting after the meeting. Richard Cooper made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Rob seconded the motion. It was unanimous. Meeting adjourned at 2:40 P.M. 2 FVAEA General Meeting February 28, 2016 Meeting was called to order at 2:00 P.M. The pledge of allegiance was led by Jeff. New members are: Steve and Mary Jones, Mike Tribe. Lynda gave the treasurer s report. It was voted on and passed. The minutes for June & July, 2015 were read and approved unanimously. There was talk about keeping the meetings on Sunday. Some liked that, others didn t. There will be more discussion later on. The discussion about the club buying Al s corn grinder and rope makers. There was a motion made to buy them for the club. The motion passed unanimously. Lynda wrote a check for the purchase. The Ag Show: There were a lot of tractors present. Bob & Joan Zumstein, Dennis Kytola, Darin Hokanson were all present to talk about our club. Heritage Fair: American diner will be there to supply the food. There will be 4 tents delivered on Wednesday by CC PUD. See Jeanie A. for swap meet spaces. Vice president Bud Cronin said the Larry would like to have the Fans of Flywheels at his place this year. May A.M. Barbecue. Bring what you want NE 76 th Street, Vancouver. There was a short board meeting after the meeting. There was a motion made to adjourn the meeting. Voted on and passed unanimously. 3 FVAEA General Meeting March 20, 2016 The meeting was called to order at 2:15 by President Aaron Giese. Thank you to all who brought food and to those who cleaned up. There was a new member, Glenn Tribe who has a John Deere Model 130. There was notice of the death of a member. Maurice Stamp. 86 years old. We were informed we are ok for the CCF. There was a motion made to have some posters made to advertise Americans Diners at the Heritage Fair Spend no more than $ for the posters. It was voted on and passed unanimously. We need to clean up the container so we can store the corn grinder and rope makers. We also need to put the freezer in the container, or it will be considered community property and anyone renting could use it. Plans are to come early to the meeting on April 24, at Meetings will change to 1:30 on Sunday, so people have longer to get5 home from church. Hazeldell Parade will be May 21st. Cost of $10.00, Hockinson Parade will be June 4th. $ Clark County Fair is all about forestry. Jean C. said she will bring the baskets to decorate the club spot. 5 FVAEA General Meeting May 26, 2016 Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by President Aaron Giese. The flag Salute was given. No new Members. There was a new visitor, Taylor Richard who owns a Farmall M. Sharon read the minutes of the last meeting. Joan Z made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Wayne A seconded the motion. It was passed. Lynda gave the treasurer s report. Wayne A. made a motion to accept the Treasurer s report. Tom K. seconded. The motion was passed. The club needs to decide how many events we might want to participate in. If we participate, then we are covered, if we don t go that s ok. Here are the activities list: Fans of flywheels, Ag show, Hazeldell Parade, Hockinson Parade, Woodland Planters Day, Ridgefield 4 th of July parade, La Center Parade, Heritage farm, Ridgefield Heritage Days, Amboy Territorial Days, Toledo, Tillamook, Skamania County Fair, Bizi Farms, Apple Tree Festival, 3 River s museum, Zumstein Family Show. Melvin B. made a motion to accept the list. It was seconded and voted on and passed. There were 20 votes to pay the $ Aaron talked to Steve Johnson at Branch 15 and Power land to see what we thought about if any of their members wanted to join our group, they could join for $15.00 each because they already have the insurance through their Branch. Melvin B, made a motion to accept the suggestion. Larry H. Said he didn t think these members should be allowed to vote. Linda made a motion to buy 4 more signs for the club. The price will be $ tax. The motion was voted on and passed. Don K. said he would be at the Heritage Fair and the CCF and he doesn t need any materials. Aaron G. is handling the security for HF, please see him to volunteer. Cowboy boot camp is next to him. The water wagon is ready. Mike Bjur will be meeting with reporters. Melvin B. will donate the manuals he received that were his dad s. They will be in the swap meet. If you have anything to get rid of, put a price on it and bring it to the HF. Also put a no less then price on a piece of paper and give to Aaron. Larry H. talked to Bill L and told him they need more safety people. Bill L. and Melvin B. said they would help Larry out. CCF; August This year we will have to pay $70.00 for insurance for the fair. It will most likely go away next year. The windmill needs to be pressure washed and painted. The Fair officials need to know when we will be on the grounds. July 30 th -August 15 th.forestry is the theme. If you have anything about forestry, please feel free to bring it in. John Morrison, Fair Manager has a hit n miss engine that has not run for a long time. We can see if we can get it running again. The windmill: It need to be painted. Some weekend before the fair. Dean B. said he will tip it over. Melvin B said he will probably power wash it. We need to get the paint. We have our new power source this year. Wayne A. mad a motion to adjourn the meeting. 6 FVAEA General Meeting June 23, 2016 Meeting was called to order at 7:01P.M. by President Aaron Guise. The flag salute was said. Visitor: Herman Obrist. The secretary read the minutes of the last meeting. Ina made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Bill L. seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. There was no treasurer s report because Lynda broke her wrist. Old Business: Aaron and Dean had a meeting with CCF about the tickets we receive for the fair. It was explained what we receive is not enough. We wanted to know if we could get more. The Fair said we will get the same amount we had last year. Sharon said Al will purchase 20 rolls of twine and he has 4 rolls, so we will have 24 rolls and if we need more, he will get it. Melvin B. made a motion to have Al buy the twine. Bill L 2 nd, it was voted on and passed. There was a motion made last month to allow existing members of EDGE&TA to join our club for $ There was a lot of discussion on the subject. Ina said if they are members, they can help us at the Heritage Fair and the CCF. The motion had already been made last month, so Ina 2 nd the motion. Vote was passed with 1 no. Dean B. brought the Hazeldell parade division trophy we won at the parade. Ridgefield 4 th of July parade will stage in Abrams Park. Bill L. will haul the banner in his pickup. A new thing is no candy or flyers given out during the parade. We can probably hand out cards after the parade. Fans of Flywheels: Bud C. Everything went very well. Several members showed up. He said he thought it would be fun to have some events like this during the summer. New Business: Aaron spoke about someone else taking over the membership. Sharon has a lot of jobs she does and would like to hand over the job to someone else. Ina J. said when she learns more about her computer, she might be interested. Bill L. made a motion to buy a laptop for the Treasurer. Not Lynda, whomever is the treasurer will have the computer. Mel B. 2 nd. The vote was called. The motion passed. There is a limit of $ HF: Clean-up day July 9, 2016Security still needs a few spots filled. Call Aaron. There is still a need for salads and hot dishes for the HF dinner. Call Joan Z. Advertisement: Mel B. mad a motion to leave the details for HF to Mike Bjur. Larry H 2 nd. It was voted on and passed. Club float (People Mover) anyone riding on the float has to have a yellow card from EDGETA! Jollies Cruz In, Aug. 20 th. 8am -5pm. Ina J. made a motion made to adjourn the meeting. Bud C. 2 nd. 7 FVAEA General Meeting July 28, 2016 Meeting was called to order at 7 P.M. by President Aaron Giese. Jeff X. led the group in the flag salute. Thanks to all who brought the food and to those who cleaned up after the meal. New members: Herman, Danell, and Taylor O. There was a thank you to all who helped out at the Heritage Fair. Darin H. stated that the Heritage Fair was a blast. Aaron G. spoke to Steve Johnson from another club, about meetings. The suggestion was maybe 6 regular meetings and 6 board meetings. This would stop all the hammering about what we are thinking about. We will discuss this at a later meeting. Discussed Heritage fair, maybe a different date but probably not because people know it s the 3 rd weekend in July, and there is always something else going on at the same time no matter what date we would choose. The vendors that come to the Heritage Fair will tell other vendors about our event. Clark County Fair: Cleanup will be on Saturday August 6 th starting at 8 AM. Come later if you can t make it at 8. The wind mill is painted and is ready to set up. Gear lube and some touch up painting needs to be done. John & Delores L. will bring 2 tents. The rope makers and corn grinder are in the container. Al K. will get the twine and corn. Bob & Joan Z. will bring the logging shack and handle pioneer village. Mel B. will have his trailer where he does wood working. The tickets to get into the fair will be available at clean-up day. Dean B. made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Johnny E. 2 nd the motion. The motion was passed unanimously. 8 FVAEA General Meeting August 25, 2016 The meeting was called to order at 7 PM by president Aaron G. Bud C. led us in the flag salute. Thanks to all who brought the food and those that cleaned up after. There were no new members. Sharon read the minutes for June. Gary M. made a motion to accept the June minutes as read. John E seconded the motion. The motion was voted on and passed unanimously. Sharon then read the minutes for July. Gary M. made a motion to accept the minutes as read. John E. seconded the motion. The motion was voted on and passed unanimously. Lynda gave the Treasurer s report. Gary M. made a motion to accept the report as given. Ina J seconded the motion. The motion was voted on and passed. CCF: Many compliments about the fair. 4 th best fair ever. 265,900 in attendance. Nice comments from John M., We were awarded a ribbon for best agricultural exhibit. Cowboy Boot Camp will be back next year. We received the check from the fair. Next month s meeting will be a week earlier. September 15, due to a conflict about the date. 9 MARCELLA S PAVILION FVAEA GENERAL MEETING SEPTEMBER THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M. BILL L. LEAD THE FLAG SALUTE. THERE WERE NO NEW MEMBERS, BUT TOM OJA CAME TO VISIT. THANKS FOR THE FOOD EVERYONE BROUGHT AND THANKS TO THE ONES WHO CLEANED UP. THE MINUTES OF AUGUST MEETING WERE READ. THERE WAS A CORRECTION MADE BY LYNDA. THE EXPENSE REPORT WAS GIVEN FOR HERITAGE FAIR IN THE AUGUST MINUTES. WAYNE A. MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS CORRECTED. MEL B. SECONDED THE MOTION. IT WAS VOTED ON AND PASSED. LYNDA GAVE THE TREASURER S REPORT. WAYNE A. MADE A MOTION MADE TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES. IT WAS SECONDED BY MEL B. HERITAGE FAIR NEXT YEAR WILL BE JULY15, 2017 AND IT WAS BROUGHT UP THAT WE NEED TO START CHARGING FOR THE HERITAGE FAIR. THERE WILL BE A BOARD MEETING SUNDAY SEPTEMBER AT THE ARBOUR S HOUSE. ALAN S. SAID THERE IS NO REASON FOR A 501 (C3) FOR THIS CLUB. THE BYLAWS NEED TO BE UPDATED. OPERATION PROCEDURE DOES NOT GO IN THE MINUTES. THE BYLAWS ARE FOR OFFICERS. WE NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT KIND OF PROCEDURE OUR CLUB WILL TAKE. APPLE TREE FESTIVAL: OCTOBER 2, MEL SAID HE WILL PICK UP THE PUMP AND WHITE WAGON AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. DEAN SAID HE WOULD BRING THE STAND FOR THE BANNER. THE HOURS ARE 11AM-3 PM. BILL L WILL BE THERE AT 8:00 O CLOCK SO HE WILL BE THERE WHEN PEOPLE START COMING DOWN. INA MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES AS READ. GARY M. SECONDED THE MOTION AND IT WAS VOTED ON AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. LYNDA GAVE THE TREASURER S REPORT. MEL MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT THE REPORT AS GIVEN. IT WAS SECONDED BY GARY M. IT WAS VOTED ON AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. DEAN MENTIONED THE VETERAN S DAY PARADE NOVEMBER 5TH. THE FLOAT WILL BE THERE AND ANYONE WITH THE YELLOW PLASTIC CARD CAN RIDE IN THE FLOAT. APPLE TREE FESTIVAL ON OCTOBER 2, 2016 WENT WELL. THE WEATHER WAS COLD BUT THE RAIN HELD OFF UNTIL WE WERE CLEANING UP. THANKS TO MEL FOR GOING TO GET THE TENTS AND ALL THE OTHER EQUIPMENT WE NEEDED. THANKS TO ALL WHO SHOWED UP TO HELP. LYNDA BROUGHT CHILI FOR LUNCH. HERITAGE FAIR: MEL MADE A MOTION TO HAVE THE HERITAGE FAIR AGAIN NEXT YEAR. WAYNE SAID THAT ALAN SAID IF WE WEREN T THERE, THERE WOULD STILL BE SOMETHING GOING ON. GARY MILLER SECONDED THE MOTION. THERE WAS SOME DISCUSSION ABOUT HAVING IT. LYNDA SAID SOMEONE HAS TO FIGURE OUT WHO WILL BE IN CHARGE. IT IS WAY PAST THE TIME TO GET ANY FREE ADVERTISEMENT. SHE HAS A LOT OF THINGS GOING ON IN HER LIFE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE SO SHE IS NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING OUT. WAYNE MADE A MOTION TO ORDER THE TENTS EVEN IF WE AREN T SURE WE WILL HAVE THE H FAIR. 11 FVAEA general Meeting Marcella's Pavilion November 20, 2016 The meeting was called to order at 2:20 PM by Vice President Bud C. The flag salute was said. Thanks for all who brought the food and to the ones who cleaned up after. There we no visitors. The minutes were read. Ina J. made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected. Jim B. 2nd. The vote was taken and passed. Lynda gave the treasurer's report. Ina J. mnad a motion to accept the report. Lester S. 2nd. The motion was voted on and passed. The birthdays for the month after asking the body if that would be ok. By Laws: Eliminate the 4th Thursday of each month. Instead of Wigwag, use notification. 1 mandatory meeting for reconciling the books. Shall we have one meeting a year and take care of all the business taken care of at one time? Dennis K made a motion to have 2 meetings a year. Jim B. 2nd the motion. It was voted on and passed unanimously. Spoke about the club float. It was stated the Board could call in their vote instead of having a meeting in case something comes up. Need to have another meeting to register. Heritage Fair: There was a lot of ideas about the heritage Fair. Maybe find some sponsors to help out, Tractor Pull, Charge for parking, maybe go back to buses. Lynda added up all the amounts the Board came up with to pay Allen. She then divided by 7 and came up with $1750. She made a motion to give Alan that amount. That Del Allen suggested $1000., Lester S. said $800.. Lynda made a motion to give Alan $ for the rent of the land for last Heritage. The motion was 2nd by Larry H. The motion was passed unanimously. Saturday Dec 3rd will be the decorating party for the Christmas meeting. We will start at 9:00 AM. Christmas party will be December 4th at 1:00. Past news: Veterans Day parade: Ina, Jim & Lynda, Wayne & Jeanie rode in the club float. Dennis K. spoke to thank everyone from the club for the cards and for the ones who came to the funeral of their daughter. Jim B. spoke about bringing something to show and talk about. Some things have been brought but no one stays after the meeting to hear about them. He said we need to make this a part of our meetings.
