3 NOVEMBER 2016 A TALEPIPE Issue 11 The official publication of the Inland Empire Model A Club, Spokane, Washington President s Message: Greetings Members, It s just about time for us to load up our plates with turkey and celebrate Thanksgiving. I know it becomes a hectic time of year, but I m hoping you can make it to the November meeting to cast your votes. It s our final meeting of the year and I would like a good turnout to pick your candidates. I promise we won t have any riots at city hall. Our Christmas party is coming up and hope you can come and celebrate the holiday season and end of year with the club. This is a fun way to start the month of December and all the activities and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. To those that can t make the meeting, have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Candi Hoover, President GENERAL MEETING NOVEMBER 21, 2016 MONDAY, 7:00 PM MILLWOOD CITY HALL 9103 E. FREDERICK This is our annual meeting where we elect new officers. Those positions open this year are President, Treasurer and Membership. The nominations at this time are: President Jackie Bonner Gary Wassom Treasurer Sheila Gibbons Membership Laura Henke Jim Pearce One last call from the floor for any nominations, and then we vote the ballot. More information has been forthcoming in regards to the petition that Dave Henke mentioned last month. This is a petition to MAFCA asking for a by-law change regarding officers terms of service. He will give details and then the membership can decide if they wish to sign the petition or not. Winter is coming upon us and our cars are being mothballed for the rest of the year. This is a good time to check your final mileage and report the results to Jim Pendleton to be considered for the mileage award. Also those members with a traveling trophy, please return them to Jim by early January so that new names can be engraved on them in time for our February meeting. There will be a regular Monday night meeting in January and a Refreshment sign-up sheet for the 2017 year will be at this meeting. Please check it out and pick a month to serve. Dues will be due in January and a renewal form will be included with next month s newsletter. Remember that any checks sent to Sheila before the first of January will not be cashed until January. Dues remain the same at $25.00 per family. PAGE 3

The trip was 1700 plus miles driving in some heavy rains and also some beautiful dry days. We stayed one night at the Mill Casino Hotel in Coos Bay where the NWRG meet will be next June. The hotel has nice rooms, décor and several restaurants with good food. Some pictures attached below. The sunset picture on the front cover was also taken on this trip. He has changed the name of our facebook page to Inland Empire As. Is there a member of our club who is maintaining the other page?
