1 Subject: BOD meeting minutes Date: November 12, 2015 Present: Tim Wheeler, Michelle Horner, Adrian Jarret, Andy Ludlum, Joe Spissler, Ben Herrera, Charles Pember, Norm Campbell, Eric Peterson, Jaap de Goede (minutes) Opening 7:30 pm Tim opens the meeting. Tim took care the room at WLV City Hall is now reserved from 7pm to 10pm every second Thursday of the month for the coming year... which effectively means from 6:45 to 10:15... and a later lock up of the conference room and rest rooms. BoD Minutes last meeting Approved BoD Minutes Archiving BoD Minutes should be archived on the CVARC website. The board will ask Stu and Ben how to proceed when the new CVARC website goes on line. Demo Internet Ben Herrera performs a demonstration of CVARC on the Internet. There are three elements that will interact with the CVARC members and the public. The CVARC website, that will be renewed A Facebook page to attract the public to the web site The Yahoo CVARC discussion group The new website will look like this on a PC:
2 But will also easily render on tablets and mobile devices.
3 This is an impression of the CVARC Facebook page: And the Yahoo CVARC discussion group: Eric Peterson is one of the moderators of this group.
4 All board members are impressed with the new style and set up of the new CVARC website and are convinced this will attract more people to CVARC. Ben will send a link of the new website to the BoD in order for more people to test the site before going live. The idea is to get the new CVARC website live in January During the first CVARC member meeting in 2016 Ben Herrera will present and explain the new Internet site. The CVARC web site is currently hosted by GoDaddy, but can easily be hosted somewhere else. Apparently GoDaddy has poor customer service and is not tailored to small organizations. Ben Herrera offers to host the CVARC site with better customer service at no recurring cost except a Domain Fee. (fatcow.com). The board will have to track the move in the coming year. Newsletter The newsletter will no longer be sent by . It will only be available from the CVARC website. While the deadline for publication is fixed, the announcement will be automated. The newsletter will be automatically announced to Yahoo CVARC discussion group members. Mike will send a Flash to the members the newsletter will become online only and how members can subscribe to the Yahoo group. Note: editors have to make sure embedded weblinks work!
