1 August 15, Our August chapter meeting will be held on Wednesday August 22, 2012 at the Penbrook American Legion Post 730. Social hour will begin at 6:00 PM and dinner will be served at 7: On the menu this month will be garden salad, chicken parmesan, pasta, dinner rolls, apple pie a la mode, coffee, soft drinks and beer. 3. Please make your dinner reservation by calling Sandy Potteiger at no later than noon on Monday August 20, It is very important that you call Sandy if you plan on attending the meeting. So please by all means call. 4. This month s guest speaker will be former Penn State University and Susquehanna Township High School basketball great and current Penn State, Harrisburg Athletic Director, Rashaan Carlton. 5. Our 46 th annual chapter induction has been scheduled for June 29, 2013 at the Holiday Inn East. An official nomination form can be found on pages 4 and 5 of this newsletter. 6. The 50 th annual state induction will take place at Four Points Sheraton North, 910 Sheraton Drive, Mars, PA on November 9 and 10, This year s class include Jim Leyland (baseball), James Sweeney (football), Sam Havrilak (football), Jeff Manto (baseball), Melanie Buddemeyer (swimming), Dale Hamer (football official), Fred Campbell (football,basketball,wrestling, track), Carl Schnellenbach (wrestling), Walter Bahr (soccer), Larry Marshall (football), Nellie King (baseball), Richard McCabe (football), Mel Blount (football), and Jimbo Covert (football). Please let me know if you would like to attend this induction. And, don t forget our chapter will host the 2013 state induction. We can nominate three living and one deceased individual. Thanks to all who sold and to those who purchased the tickets. Tom Finger has begun the prep work for the fall lottery fundraiser. More news regarding this fundraiser to come in September. 9. Our Senators picnic was also a huge success. Thanks to Rosemary Flamini for coordinating this event for us. 10. In like manner, our July 27 golf outing was very successful. There were 96 dufers in attendance and we signeded up 36 new members. Congratulations to the Ron Sweger foursome who recorded the low score for the the day. The committee, which consisted of Sam and Sandy Potteiger, Ken Dapp, Grant Morrill and Casper Voithofer are to be congratulated for an outstanding job. Also I would be remiss if I didn t mention and recognize Yvonne Rodgers, Rosemary Flamini, and Bob Swanger who voluntarily gave up their Saturday to help with the outing many, many thanks. 11.
