1 SWMMC MONTHLY February 3, Volume 3, Issue 1 SOUTHWEST METRO MUSTANG CLUB THE TWIN CITIES MUSTANG CLUB OF AMERICA CHAPTER Getting Started 2016 Ford Mustang GT350R Welcome to another year of the Southwest Metro Mustang Club. This will be the fourth full year of activities and fun. All indications are that we will have a great year. We have a fully planned April October monthly cruise schedule (page 5), four car shows planned with different themes, a new web site on the rise, and continued support by Apple Ford Shakopee. We hope to more closely involved with NF Upper Midwest this season. Our membership continues to grow we are at 105 pony enthusiasts currently. The club learned a lot last year about executing shows and events. None of the preceding could be possible without the effort and time of many SWMMC members. It is fantastic to have folks step up and help organize activities. Many people have contributed ideas to make the club better. The most gratifying aspect of watching the club grow over the past four years has been the way people have developed friendships. People genuinely look forward to events and don t seem to dread helping when asked. Heck, folks even seem to like coming to monthly meetings to hear me drone on. Stay tuned for more details as we get going. And keep thinking about good weather this summer. INSIDE THIS ISSUE Getting Started 1 SWMMC Holiday Party New Members 1 SWMMC Web Site Re-Design 2 Apple Ford Shakopee News 2 For Sale 3 SWMMC Officers for th Annual Step Up for NF 3 February 2016 Calendar 4 Financail Summary 4 SWMMC 2016 Event Calendar 5 4th Annual All Ford Show Flyer 6&7 2nd Annual Mustangs & Ponies All Mustang Flyer 8&9 2nd Annual American Muscle Car Show Flyer 10&11 9/11 Remembrance and Honor Car Show Flyer 12&13 SWMMC Dues Details 14 SWMMC Apparel Ideas 14 New Members Nov 15 Jan 2016 Welcome the following new SWWMC Members: Mike & Beth Fredrickson of Farmington and their 2011 GT Pete Kokemueller & Kathy Rashe of Savage and their 2003 GT, 2012 GT and 2016 GT Deb Zitek of Shakopee and her 2007 Convertible SWMMC Holiday Party 2016 The club s 2nd annual Holiday Party was held on Saturday January 23rd at Casper s in Eagan. Ron and Cindi Broekemeier selected a very nice venue for the event. A total of 48 SWMMC club members attended the evening of wining and dining. Folks picked up where they left off at the end of last season and spent the night sharing stories and discussing the coming year. Dinner was a great selection of fish, steak, chicken or ribs with salad and sides. Dessert was really good :) After dinner Pete Schmidt highlighted the plan for the four upcoming car shows and Dan Nicewander laid out the details of the year s cruises dates, destinations, and special details for a few cruises. At the end of the night car related door prizes were awarded to all ticket holders. The festivities wrapped up around 9:30pm. The staff at Casper s in Eagan did a splendid job of keeping 48 people hydrated and fed. Many thanks to them. A heart felt thanks to Ron and Cindi for planning the party and their willingness to repeat next year. See photos on page 2. 2 SWMMC MONTHLY February 1, 2016 Volume 3, Issue 2 Page 2 Holiday Party prize table Party goers SWMMC Web Site Re-Design David Kronk has been hard at work re-vamping the SWMMC web site. He has selected a more versatile template and moved it to a service easier for others to work with if needed. The layout is designed specifically to work well with mobile devices as well as a PC based site. The main page has a blog type feature for announcements and upcoming events. Images are easier to include on the page as well. Tabs for the calendar and car shows in place. The car show tab contains the flyers for each of the club s car shows. More details will be added for each show as we get closer to the show dates. The membership tab needs some text content updating, but the club now has a paypal connection that members can pay their dues on-line. We will also use the paypal capabilities to facilitate car show registrations. The photos tab is now a direct link to the club s Shutterfly site which is a convenient way to keep up with club events. The partners tab is under construction. Suggestions for a For Sale tab and Club Member Car Projects have been proposed. Both are likely to be implemented in some form. David is looking for feedback. Please visit the web site and let us know what you think. Any and all comments are welcome. Apple Ford Shakopee News If you haven t been to Apple Ford Shakopee lately, you would be surprised to see a full range of Dodge trucks on the South end of their lot. Apple Autos is expanding to include Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep at their Shakopee location. A new dealership building is scheduled to be built on site in the Spring of On a different note, about a month ago I sent out a note from Cathy Wirta looking for club member feedback on the idea of Apple Ford becoming a Shelby dealer. Any comments should be sent to Cathy at Apple ford Shakopee. More party goers

Please contact Pete or David with any questions At the January club meeting a discussion was held regarding ordering SWMMC t- shirts. The conversation ranged widely including colors for t-shirts, other shirt ideas, other apparel choices, and selling SWMMC branded gear to non-members. While no decisions were made, a few points are worth noting. The club has a stock of t-shirts, but only 2XL in white and mostly L, XL and 2XL in blue. The club charges members cost $12 for t- shirts. To this point in time no t -shirts have been sold to non -members. It is cost effective to order ~50 t-shirts at a time and keeping the shirt colors to either white, blue, red or black to accommodate 3-color printing. A few members are investigating the use of Cafepress to create a SWMMC store that would allow anyone to order a wide variety of apparel and items with the club logo. Jeff Mattson has also created a few custom Mustang shirts that could be available. A report on possibilities is to be presented at the February meeting. The club is looking for feedback on club apparel. Send me your suggestions/ideas on what you would like to see or willing to wear for club gear. Thanks. NEXT Club Meeting February 24,
