It was great to see many former members attend and share this once in a lifetime event. S@A Keith opened the meeting with much gusto. Amy gave the invocation and toast. It was left to our President to start the Anthem which had some energy given the large contingent present. S@A Keith recounted his early memories of the club. He stressed that people make the club, its spirit and its culture. Keith listed many members who were influential in the club's formative years:: Bill Dimovski (First President), Des MacRobbie (First S@A), Martin Shirley (First Treasurer) and a host of others. The club initially met at Tudor Manors (known for its forgetful meals) then the Quality Inn Belmont, Kirrewur Court, a brief time at Queens Park Golf Club and now Lyndon Grove. Keith concluded by saying despite our ups and downs the club has never lost its character.we don't take ourselves too seriously yet we always deliver. New members are always made to feel welcome and part of the club.

From the Pres Posted by Nick Oakley on Mar 04, 2012 Pres Stewart formally welcomed all gathered to the Rotary Club of 's 1000 th meeting and then thanked Deb F and the Fellowship Committee for organising the event. Pres Stewart then read two letters congratulating the club on this milestone: one was from the MLA for South Barwon, Andrew Katos and one from Mike and Sandy who were thinking of us from a cruise ship somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. President Stewart then invited the Thomas Fun Run Committee to the stage for a group photo. He stated that the event held last week was a great success and a great example of Team HK where we achieve far more working together.
3 Page 3 of 6 A large cake was then brought out for our 1000 th meeting and to our surprise (but in typical HK fashion) a small (inflatable) person jumped out of the cake. We all sang Happy 1000 th Meeting and the cake was cut to celebrate. TiC Awards Posted by Rhonda Whitton on Mar 15, 2012 The 1000 th meeting would not be complete without an awards ceremony to acknowledge the achievement of members who strive to be the best...some in perhaps questionable ways, hence the Tongue in Cheek (TIC) awards presented by Deb F.
