1 !! Rotary Club of Red Hook, New York Weekly Bulletin SERVICE ABOVE SELF June 21, We had a very busy meeting! We awarded our high school senior scholarship to some outstanding local students. Shown left to right are: scholarship chair Linda G r e e n b l a t t, J i n n e s s a Va l e z o f Germantown High School, Rotary President Susan Simon, Patrick Comerford of Red Hook High School, and Abby Foster of Red Hook High School. Our High School Interact Club was recognized for once again being ShelterBox heroes. Through their fund raising efforts, they endowed another $1, ShelterBox for a family displaced by a natural disaster. Shown in the photo are: President Simon presenting the ShelterBox Hero award to Interact co-president Abby Foster.
2 We were delighted to welcome back our 2009 exchange student from F r a n c e, S i d o n e Kerballac, who made instant friends with this year's French exchange student Raphaelle. Sadly, we have to say "Au Revoir" to Raph who is going home on Tuesday. It was a great year having you Raph and be sure to come back and visit! Baxter's Bash - our annual picnic will be on Tuesday August 30th at the Red Hook Recreation Park Pavilion at 6:00 p.m. Details to follow. (There will be no morning meeting that day.) Save the Date - Citizen of the Year Dinner - Tuesday, October 18th. The nomination form for Citizen of the Year is printed elsewhere in this issue of the newsletter.
