4 1276 Hearing/Notice Department of Agriculture Notice of Hearing on Proposed Permanent Quarantine Pursuant to K.S.A , a hearing will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, in Room 124, Kansas Department of Agriculture, 1320 Research Park Drive, Manhattan, in the matter of the issuance of a permanent quarantine regarding Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis [Coleoptera: Buprestidae]). The proposed quarantine would affect Leavenworth County, Johnson County, Wyandotte County, Douglas County and Jefferson County, Kansas. The quarantine would prohibit movement of regulated items from the quarantined areas, except under specific conditions. Regulated items under quarantine would include the following: The emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis [Coleoptera: Buprestidae]), in any living stage of development; Firewood of all hardwood (non-coniferous) species; Nursery stock of the genus Fraxinus (Ash); Green lumber of the genus Fraxinus (Ash); Other material living, dead, cut or fallen, including logs, stumps, roots, branches, and composted and uncomposted chips of the genus Fraxinus (Ash); Any other article, product or means of conveyance that an inspector determines presents a risk of spreading emerald ash borer and notifies the person in possession of the article, product or means of conveyance that it is subject to the restrictions of the regulations. In addition, the quarantine would require anyone who discovers Emerald Ash Borer in an area not currently under quarantine to report the discovery to the Kansas Department of Agriculture within 72 hours. All interested persons may attend the hearing and will be given the opportunity to express comments either orally or in writing, or both. Interested parties may appear in person or by counsel. Written comments and requests for information concerning the proposed quarantine should be directed to Jeff Vogel, Plant Protection & Weed Control Program Manager, Kansas Department of Agriculture, 1320 Research Park Drive, Manhattan, 66502, or to jeff.vogel@kda. ks.gov, at or before the time of hearing. In order to give all parties an opportunity to present their views, it may be necessary to request each participant to limit oral presentation to five minutes. 7 Notices 1279 Department of Administration Office of Facilities and Property Management Notice of Requested Architectural Services Notice is hereby given of the commencement of the selection process for architectural services for a new Subarea Complex for the Kansas Department of Transportation at Kechi. The Subarea Complex will be located at K-254 and Rock Road in Kechi, Kansas, to the north of the new Kansas Highway Patrol Troop F Headquarters. The subarea shop building will be approximately 16,000 square feet and will include bays for truck maintenance, storage and office space for a crew of 25 +/-, and office space for suitable supervision. The complex will also contain fuel facilities, salt storage, equipment storage, an attached equipment wash facility, fencing and area lighting.
