CALL TO ORDER MINUTES OF THE STUDENT SENATE SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY EDWARDSVILLE Morris University Center- Goshen Lounge Monday, 6 p.m. The Student Senate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville convened Monday,, in the Goshen Lounge of the Morris University Center. Vice President Megan Gooch called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. II. We will be starting a drive to support this cause. There may even be an incentive to see which school can bring in the most items for a prize. Travel Requests Senator Smith moved to approve the program request the Iranian Student Society. Senator Zajac seconded. The motion passed by acclimation. 1. FY 18 Travel Request--Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) PRSSA 2018 National Assembly March 1-3, 2018; $ FY 18 Travel Request---Student National Pharmaceutical Organization SNPhA Regions III, IV, and V Regional Conference March 23-25, 2018; $ FY 18 Travel Request---United States Institute for Theatre Technology United States Institute for Theatre Technology March 15-18, 2018; $ FY 18 Travel Request---Chemistry Club American Chemical Society National Meeting March 18-20, 2018; $ Senator Zajac moved to approve the travel requests of the Chemistry Club, the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, the Student National Pharmaceutical Organization, and the Public Relations Student Society of America. Senator Jain seconded. The motion passed by acclimation 5. FY 18 Travel Request---Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) PPAG Annual April 25-29, 2018; $ Senator Espinoza moved to approve the travel requests of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group for the PPAG Annual on the dates of April for $ Senator Spears seconded. The motion passed by a roll call vote.

Election Commissioner: Tiana Hunter The presidential appointments were approved by a roll call vote. XI. Ayes: 18 Nays: 0 Abs: 0 Personnel Appointment Removals: William Burke- Finance Board Madison Baker- Student Diversity Committee & Honorary Degree and Distinguished Service Awards Committee. Megan Gooch: Dr. Cobb s Dean of the School or Business Search Committee Additions: Jace Gaddis- Student Diversity Council Christian Heck- Dr. Cobb s Dean of the School or Business Search Committee The personnel appointments were approved by acclimation. XII. OPEN FORUM: XIII. ANNOUNCEMENTS 4 th year dental students will be screening patients for patient boards. Will take place on Monday Feb 12 th from 5-7 on the Dental School s campus. If you qualify the treatment is free. Dance Marathon will be held on Feb 17 th from noon-midnight. The registration fee is $ Hoping to raise $62, this year. For the rest of February, from 2-6 PM Starbucks will be selling $1.00 cake pops with the minimum purchase of any grande-sized drink.

5 5 Page Walk a mile in her shoes will be Thursday Feb 13 th from 11-2 PM in the Goshen. We will have a table and be working one by handing out shoes. Black Heritage Month is this month and there will events spanning the entire month that lots of hard work was put into. AKL will be hosting Cutest Couple tomorrow in the Meridian Ballroom to support the women s shelter in St. Louis. $5.00 to get in. Doors open at 6 PM and the event starts at 6:30 PM. PPAG is selling Krispy Kreme donuts, a dozen for $8.00, which will be dropped off fresh on Feb 13 th. The next biweekly dialogue will be next Friday from 12-1:30 PM in Peck Hall room Looking for more student involvement. Reach out to constituencies because student involvement is important. Get back Springboard surveys by the end of tomorrow Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday morning at 9AM Send ideas for superlatives to Erin. XIV.
