American Bikers Aimed Toward Education is a not-for-profit corporation formed to promote and protect the interests of New York State motorcyclists. ABATE monitors and interacts with the legislative process, enhancing the image of the sport and providing educational and social opportunities for members as well as nonmembers. ABATE will continue to strive to become acquainted with both the issues and the people of the motorcycling community. WE ENCOURAGE ALL OUR MEMBERS TO BE IN- FORMED REGISTERED VOTERS. ABATE of New York, Inc. supports the Motorcycle Rider Education classes currently being offered throughout New York State. 3 Chapter Meeting May 21, 2017 Called to order: 12:34 pm Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence Roll Call: Arms/Legislative Assistant/Products/Membership Absent: Legislative/Treasurer Motion to waive the reading of last meeting minutes: Motion denied-minutes were read. President Report: none at this time VP Report: none at this time Legislative Report: none at this time Treasurer Report: Jerry read report (April) Motion to accept: 1st Mike 2nd-Wayne Jerry made a donation to the Rescue Mission (as requested by Monsignor) of $300 from Bike Blessing donations. Thank you to all volunteers and the clean up crew was awesome!!! Membership Report: As of 30 April total - See Jerry for information regarding the membership incentive program. Secretary/Newsletter Report: none at this time Road Captain Report: Joker Run route has been updated (We will need road guards - you MUST wear a safety vest to do this.) Watch Fire route is set and Mike will lead the pack in Bobs place. Webmaster Report: Everything is up to date. PR Report: Jerry reported that Watch for Motorcycles are on several billboards and 5 electronic billboards, as well. Arms Report: Please be on time for meetings. Dailey s may have a charity event.more discussion at a later date. Please take some flyers and post them at different places you may visit. Products Report: Working on a design for Freedom/Memorial Run. Any other things, see Jerry Old Business: As reported previous-rescue Mission donation. Joker Run on leaves at Noon-$10 donation. Helmet/Memorial Run on same route as last year. Jerry is checking in to a DJ. Need rodeo volunteers. Need volunteers for set up on (Friday) If you want tents, etc. taken to destination, bring them to meeting hall. New Business: Dice run-26 August-kick stands up NOON-no route yet-roll the dice at each stop, whomever has the highest total is the winner. Road Captain is working on the route. Region C meeting TBA. Anyone doing unsafe things on our runs will be ejected. Legislative Assistant relayed there is allot of information on the website as well as hard copies at the meeting hall.
