American Bikers Aimed Toward Education is a not-for-profit corporation formed to promote and protect the interests of New York State motorcyclists. ABATE monitors and interacts with the legislative process, enhancing the image of the sport and providing educational and social opportunities for members as well as nonmembers. ABATE will continue to strive to become acquainted with both the issues and the people of the motorcycling community. WE ENCOURAGE ALL OUR MEMBERS TO BE IN- FORMED REGISTERED VOTERS. ABATE of New York, Inc. supports the Motorcycle Rider Education classes currently being offered throughout New York State. 3 Chapter Meeting December 11, 2016 Called to order: 12:38pm Pledge of Allegiance Moment of silence Roll Call: President/VP/Secretary & Newsletter/Road Captain/Legislative Assistant/Sgt. At Arms ABSENT: Treasurer and R/PR Motion to waive the reading of the minutes; 1st-Mike 2nd-Popcorn President Report: Jerry did allot of work on helping to stop E-15 (letters, s, phone calls, etc.) As far as Jerry knows, New York State will not be using E-15. Motorcycle road blocks are still in place. VP Report: Christmas Party, December 17 in conjunction with the Loop. There is a list to sign up to bring food. There will be a DJ next store (Loop). There are calendars for sale, with the monies going to the SPCA ($10). Secretary Report: none at this time. Newsletter Report: none at this time. Legislative Report: Welcoming a new president and our new VP is a rider and a member of Ohio ABATE!! If you have a gun permit, you will be required to register every 5 (FIVE) years, thanks to the Safe Act. Treasurer Report: No statements at this time. Membership Report: 168 total. PR Report: Jerry stated we will be getting the billboards again. And Iheart radio has free on air interviews. Looking into that. Road Captain Report: nothing new at this time. Products Report: Hoodies are in, Let Jerry know if you want any products. Old Business: Christmas Party start time has changed to 4 pm. Will be changed on Facebook. State Chapter meeting: discussed different ways to get members (possibly give away free memberships?) Website if up and running again. New Business: New agenda is still being tweaked. Will be available at the Christmas Party. Thanks to Jerry and WB for winterizing the meeting hall. Motion to Adjourn: 1st-Mike 2nd-Bob Adjourned: 1:20 pm
