American Bikers Aimed Toward Education is a not-for-profit corporation formed to promote and protect the interests of New York State motorcyclists. ABATE monitors and interacts with the legislative process, enhancing the image of the sport and providing educational and social opportunities for members as well as nonmembers. ABATE will continue to strive to become acquainted with both the issues and the people of the motorcycling community. WE ENCOURAGE ALL OUR MEMBERS TO BE IN- FORMED REGISTERED VOTERS. ABATE of New York, Inc. supports the Motorcycle Rider Education classes currently being offered throughout New York State. 3 Chapter Meeting January 08, 2017 Called to order: 12:38pm Pledge of Allegiance Moment of silence Roll Call: President/VP/Treasurer/Secretary & Newsletter/Road Captain/Legislative Assistant/Sgt. At Arms ABSENT: PR Motion to waive the reading of the minutes; 1st-Mike 2nd-Bob State President: swearing in ceremony for Mike (State Sgt. At Arms) - Congrats Mike!!! Happy New Year everyone!! President Report: none at this time VP Report: Our rent is now $50 per month-ben has offered to pay the whole year (Thanks Ben!!) We ve added some more events for this year. Newly added events: Chili Cook-off-Pool Tourney-Watch Fire-Dice Run. There are flyers and calendar of events, feel free to take some. Secretary Report: none at this time. Newsletter Report: none at this time. Legislative Report: They are back in session-same bills since April. There are copies of bill information, if you want them. Treasurer Report: November report read: motion to accept 1st-Bill-2nd-Terry (all in favor) Membership Report: 168 total. The state has authorized us to give out free associate memberships (NEW MEMBERS ON- LY) Sgt. At Arms Report: Willing to take information to local motorcycle clubs regarding free memberships. Road Captain Report: nothing new at this time. Working on new runs. Products Report: Hoodies are in, Let Jerry know if you want any products. If you have ordered a hoodie, please pick it up or it will be sold. Plenty of products. Koozies with our events listed on them. Old Business: Christmas Party was good, didn t loose any money. We need to appoint a PR officer and Sgt. At Arms will give Jerry a list of his assistants. New Business: Chili Cook-off TODAY-$5 donations to taste and vote. Super Swap-February 11&12-meeting 11am to set up. Jonesy will get the donuts. March 18-Pool Tourney - $10 to play - prizes determined that day (depends on how many players) Seminar is at the Turning Stone this year-start time 8:30 am. Still working on Helmet/Memorial Run.
