Just when we thought we had an understanding of ACT changes were made. I guess there is comfort in change - it provides an excuse if we fail to implement property taxation properly. Another comfort for all those in the property tax area is that we are not individuals. We have SCAAO as an organization where collectively decisions are made, policy established, and guidelines developed. SCAAO is only as strong and influential as we choose to make it. I would like to challenge all property tax officials to become more active and to offer their expertise. What better way to begin your involvement than joining us on October 14th for our Fall Conference at Seawell s in Columbia. I personally would like to thank SCAAO for allowing me to serve as your President for The Executive Board is a great core group that always made decisions based on the best interest of SCAAO.
