Over his 29-year career in local government auditing, Mike contributed significantly to both ALGA and the profession. He chaired three different ALGA committees over 16 years, Professional Issues, Nominating, and Peer Review, and served as a member and review coordinator on the Peer Review Committee and a member on the Long-Term Conference Committee. He served on the ALGA Board as Treasurer and President. He represented ALGA on the Comptroller General s Forum on Key National Indicators and Key National Indicators Initiative, the Comptroller General s Advisory Council on Government Auditing Standards and the Comptroller General s Advisory Council on Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government. His efforts in all of these roles has helped to strengthen local government auditing and to establish ALGA as the voice of local government auditing. Mike was generous with his time and talent in addition to these leadership roles. He contributed as a presenter at numerous conferences for ALGA and other professional associations, conducted 12 peer reviews, and wrote several articles for the Local Government Auditing Quarterly. Mike attended every ALGA National Conference since he became a member in 1994, usually accompanied by his wife, June. Both were excellent ambassadors for ALGA, networking and bringing in new members.
