1 WOODHAVEN-BROWNSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY, JUNE 20, ) The Woodhaven-Brownstown Board of Education met in special session on Call to Order Monday, June 20, 2011, at the Administration Offices, Hall Road, Woodhaven. 2 7) Mr. Paul Elsey presented the Kids Against Hunger video from this year s event Kids Against held at Bates Elementary in February. Planning is underway for next year s event Hunger video which will be held on Saturday, February 4, ) Ms. Vespremi, Mr. Short, and WHS students presented pictures from their trip to European Trip Europe over spring recess. Report Mrs. Lott recognized Ms. Lani Rozga for the work that she has done over the last four years in receiving grant funds (over $642,000) for the district. Thanks to Lani, Ken Barnes, and the Business Office staff who helped in the preparation of the budgets. Four more student cases will come to the Board in July. Mrs. Lott answered questioned raised during Hearing of the Public at the last Board meeting. Students have been paid $10 to work as athletic aides for many years. If the Board wants to change that, it should be done over the summer. With regard to Mrs. Featheringill s work in the district and her hourly wage, Mrs. Featheringill is highly skilled, paid $55.00 through a 3 rd party (the district does not pay retirement), and this is a reasonable rate for someone to transition and train new employees in the business office for the bookkeeper position. 16) Board Committee Reports None to report.
